I just finished rewatching seasons 1 & 2 again since season 3. It really shone a light on how the quality of season 3 dropped. It was ok but not in the same league for sure.
I haven't watched Fargo, regardless of the actress, but will now than I know CC is in it. Fargo will need to be pretty amazing to beat her performance in The Leftovers. My sub-dilemma is Carrie Coon in Leftovers or Nicole Kidman in Big Little Lies
I checked the set list for the 40th Anniversary Woodstock, which I think has the most material and is in surround, but Jingo is not listed. Thx for the suggestion.
I was thinking that as I typed Nicole's name. Heck, Reese was decent too but she was saddled with an unlikable character
Carrie Coon was nominated for Fargo, which as you know, is a limited series . She was actually better in The Leftovers, which was only recognized for Guest Actress Ann Dowd (who, if you've seen her, is a hoot). Fargo is up against Big Little Lies, and that frankly is a tough choice but I think Fargo wins.
If we're comparing this season of "Fargo" to BLL, BLL wins easily. Past seasons of "Fargo", maybe not.
I guess I could go either way. BLL always seemed to me to be like Desperate Housewives on steroids, but damn if it didn't completely suck me in.
It certainly had that feel to it (never saw DH) but I don't think your analogy is that far off. I still liked BLL a lot though my favorite characters were more minor players than the major three.
What a amazing series. I'd rate season 3 my favorite then 2, followed by season one. In a nutshell pure genius. Anything currently running that's on this shows level ?
For dark humor, genius level: Better Call Saul. For just pure genius level, currently running: Ozark, Narcos, Mindhunters Just finished, genius level: The Leftovers, The Knick
I haven't watched it yet. I've heard that's true in the first season, but it becomes pretty great. I'm thinking about making the plunge. To my eternal shame, I almost gave up on Breaking Bad for those same reasons (2nd season, maybe?).
