Listenin' to Classical Music and Conversation

    Completed listening to the last few movements on the above CD and the following CD over this morning 2-mile walk. Listening for the rest of today will be in the air-conditioned music room ... :D

    I guess he doesn't like Harnoncourt. Granted, he did some controversial things, but I like much of what he recorded and this set with the Berlin Philharmonic is one of the better Brahms symphonies cycles in my opinion.

    I like some recordings by Harnoncourt, but not this one. It is mannered, rushed, weird orchestral balances, and the Berlin phil. sound like a chamber orchestra.
