It's been quite a while (a 'long long while') since we have had a specific thread regarding albums.
So, what's your favourite Stones record. And why?

    Important note:
Due to restrictions of poll choices, 'Blue And Lonesome' had to be left out.
If that is your favourite album, then tell us :)

    EDIT:
An error occured, but now the full albums are visible.

Errrr. I was going to say Between the Buttons but from the choices listed I go with 12x5.

Their first UK Decca LP that I bought back in 1964 from Vallances Record Browserie in Boroughgate, Otley. Laminated with 'Clarifoil' made by British Celanese Limited.

Now that the poll is straightened out, I picked:

    1. Let It Bleed
    2. Sticky Fingers
    3. Exile on Main St.

My single favorite RS album is not listed. This is the band at their best with Madison Square Garden their studio:

Often given little respect by some, yet Time Waits For No One carries this gem of an album to the forefront of my faves of all-time.

Sticky Fingers for life, the only album that really captures everything they were capable of on one piece of wax.

I gotta agree with the masses on this one - 'Exile' is their pinnacle.

So many great albums, hard to choose just one. But I went with LIB.

"Aftermath" without a doubt. The UK version as intended by the band.

I see we can vote for as many as we like, but I just cast a vote for my personal top 5. They are, in order:

    05. Black and Blue
    04. The Rolling Stones Now!
    03. Goats Head Soup
    02. Sticky Fingers
    01. Exile on Main St.

But I am a massive Stones fan, so I could have voted for many, many more.

Exile, but the 3 albums preceding it are close, particularly Beggars Banquet and Sticky Fingers.

    Let It Bleed

    Exile On Main Street
    Tattoo You

Those are my top four with little separation. I like many others, but there's a big gap before number five.

I can't choose Exile because the poseurism of Americana by these young Brits is just a bit too much to take and even with the excellent contributions of the others it ends up feeling like a Mick Jagger marketing campaign. I went with Sticky Fingers, but really that whole run from BB to EoMS is top notch.

I think you could have left out Dirty Work and replaced with B&L. Again, pure troll vote.

My favorite is Sticky Fingers as it is the album I can listen to without skipping songs.

All of the late '60s and early '70s albums are some of the greatest in rock history and I love all of them. Even some of their earlier work is very good. The '80s and beyond .... no comment.

(Although Steel Wheels was an exception.)

Boy I have trouble choosing, sometimes it's Let It Bleed, sometimes Sticky, sometimes Beggars, sometimes Aftermath, you get the picture
