...and I only joke about it. My only "project" at the moment is to order the July Complete '78 box at the end of this week. I've been really digging on the 7/8/78 tracks that I've listened to today.

The Deal on 7/8/78 is great. I've never had the notion that it is like a Madison Ave. jingle before but Jerry leaves a little questioning ear worm after each "deal go down"; those instances are each like a little sales pitch; you know you want it, just dial 1-800-555-1212, operators are standing by.

That's funny, I didn't get to that one. I'll have to check it out later tonight.

I was hoping it would be him shopping in a record store like the Sebastian Bach episode, but it was still cool to see what he picked out.

I'd love to see a Phil Lesh episode.

    There's also Garcia's Record Collection

by 'skipped around' I mean listened to other eras, within 1969 I've listened in order, except for skipping over a handful of shows I've listened to 1000 times (and these I plan to visit again when I go over the notes.)

Seek out Jerry's rendition of Bobby Charles' "Tennessee Blues" with Geoff Muldaur (who played on Bobby's record) from Feb 74 while you're at it.

Which GD song does this remind you of? If ever so slightly...

The first part of the verse reminds me of Half Step, (F A7 Bb F) the second part of the verse of BIODTL. (the ending (F Bb F.)

The Dead's "Americana" taproot is watered daily with songs like that. I heard a "Deal" riff in that one.

WHAAA????!? I'd love to hear that. Do you have a specific show date or torrent link?

BTW, I recently read a book all about Woodstock, NY. It mainly revolved around Dylan and Albert Grossman, but it also introduced me to a number of people I wouldn't have found otherwise (most likely). Bobby Charles is tops on that list. Love his stuff.

2/10/74 Keystone Berkeley. All that circulates from that night, unearthed only a few years back. Jerry's solo is one of the sweetest I've heard.
