It's memory wiped out by the superior See My Baby Jive and I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day singles from the same year.

I also liked Roy Wood's Dear Elaine single from 1973. Not a number one, but a top 20 hit. Despite how odd it was.:D

But what a glorious week, and song it was. Not forgotten by @bob60, myself, and countless others.

Agree, Dear Elaine, is great. The other two mentioned, are not bad, either!

Oddly, Angel Fingers was the only Wizzard record I bought in 1973.

I kind of did the same with Sweet. I bought Hell Raiser, which compared to Block Buster and Ballroom Blitz was a bit forgettable!

I had See My Baby Jive, and "that" Slade single, later. To my shame, I never did buy the Wizzard, Christmas song, on single.

Agree that Hell Raiser, and Angel Fingers, were the (slightly) weaker singles.

Possibly because I hear Angel Fingers, less, I enjoy it all the more when I do, and have still got a lot of love for it.

I have Angel Fingers on a comp somewhere, but don't think I've heard it on the radio in donkey's years...

I have Angel Fingers on my computer as part of my 70's folder. It's a number one glam single so it's a must have. I listen to it now and then but I like and listen to "See My Baby Jive" much more. A 70's classic

William Shakespeare was an Australian glam act and had two number ones written by the guys from the Easybeats.

Is it Bon Scott, in pre AC/DC, days?

He looked a bit long in the tooth for the glam malarkey.. Didn't really have the moves, did he? I think he'd have been happier sat on a stool singing a nice ballad.

If nothing else it's made me appreciate Barry Blue a little more.

I think it's that horrible Australian weather, that ages people. Clearly needs a few months of great, British, rain and fog.

First 30 seconds, thought he was auditioning for the Bee Gees, then in true Glam fashion, it got incredibly catchy.

Man, I don't even recognize/remember any of those songs! I still paid attention to pop singles back in that era but whoosh! Those are gone!

So I guess they do qualify for this thread! :D

Love it! Will watch it all later, but watched, Slade, some Donny, and then some dogs, and Pans People dancing to Gilbert - Get Down. :D

Didn't young people look young, back then? Pleased it was Tony and Noel, presenting.

Bon Scott was in a 60's pop band The Valentines - was very clean cut at the time. The guy just recently died & was homeless towards the end of his life. Rather sad

He does look oldish. Wasn't Gary Glitter in his 30's in the early 70's?

I was also following the pop scene at that time and don't remember them. Now Ice Ice Baby and Can't Touch This I remember!

Glitter was born in 1944. This means that when he had I Love You Love Me Love and I'm The Leader Of The Gang in the charts in 1973 he'd only be 29! He looked at least 10 years older than that. I think his lifestyle told on him.:D

It was actually the main show on the top left of the screen I was suggesting you watch. It contains a lovely weedy live performance from Barry Blue.

Though I suppose all the shows are worth a watch.

    Never could follow instructions!!

I'll watch the correct episode. :D

Good to see the early development of Dad Dancing. My favourite example of proper, English, dancing, is the lad with the tank top, grooving along to, Starman.

    Mmm maybe.
I would say visually Bon Scott more resembles Showaddywaddy singer Dave Bartram, I just cant put my finger on why. Maybe its because onstage they both gave a more meaty performance......

Thought he was around 30. Willy was born 1948 so he was an old looking 26!

I saw Showaddywaddy, three times, and can't say I noticed, but, my ex-wife probably did!

Possibly the reason was, I couldn't help but notice, that her best friend, had a beautifully inked rose, on her left...

Mungo Jerry, were supporting that day. :edthumbs:

Not bad. I don't think I was aware that it was an Easybeats son.

Up here we had a cover by Octavian:

All things considered, these are not bad songs for the '70s ...
