  2. I have a Revolver Red that I used for years just sitting in its original box. I'm holding on to it as I want to remove the tonearm and replace it with my Oracle/Pro-ject 9cc that's on my Oracle Paris. I just need to decide what replacement tonearm to choose for the Paris. Not sure how quickly this will happen as I have some other things I want to address, so we'll see.

Here is my VPI Classic 1 with an Ortofon 2M Black. I finally landed with this table about 2 years ago after climbing the upgrade ladder for a while. This sounds amazing to me, and I can't see doing any more changes/upgrades for quite a while.

That Pioneer is beautiful, looks like a Delos cartridge too, nice. Huge plinth, what's hiding under all that beautiful woodwork? And how can you listen to both at the same time? :)

Very cool setup, congrats on getting there with a couple great tables.

It's amazing how different turntables can be from one another.

LOL. Thanks. I was just playing happy Birthday by Stevie, then about to switch to Dope Lemon - my phono has 3 inputs, so just need to switch inputs. the Delos is the sweet spot in the Lyra range imo, but nothing can touch the Atlas.

    What's under the Pioneer plinth?

Isn't the bearing housing for your tonearm supposed to be at right angles to the tonearm when the cartridge is about half way through playing an album? The Breuer tonearm instructions suggested this. Your tonearm is another Swiss arm, I see. Nice Technics.

No. The Thales tonearm is tangential tracking so it is designed very different to a normal pivoted tonearm with tracking error. The entire bearing, tonearm pipes and headshell move across the LP to ensure close to zero tracking error.

Which is very different to this fixed twin pipe tonearm on the Yamaha PF - 800. Each pipe holds one of the two channel wires, the theory being that provides better separation. Three point adjustable floating suspension, with two part platter. Very silent backgrounds.

Pictured here with its original carbon fibre headshell and removable stylus moving coil cartridge. MC -705. Stylus upgraded from stock spherical (!) to .003 x .007 elliptical. Still not an ideal shape. Tonearm is adjustable in height, so have another headshell with a Ortofon Super OM 40 - great for inner grooves and 7" records.

Record - one of my favourites Apple singles - Something.

awesome turntable.:righton: Yamaha have made some great tables over the years. GT2000 for the top of range and I also love the linear tracking Yammy's.

Nice - reminds me a little of the old Garrard Zero 100 tonearm, but possibly a million times better executed.

Is that a Pioneer P3 lurking in the background?
