Has anybody framed their Mr. Kite poster yet?

Were you able to find a standard frame that it fit into well? Where did you buy it?

I would like to frame mine but without having to pay for custom framing, if possible. At the same time, I am prepared to do so, because I want it to look good. The poster is 10 1/2" x 20 1/2" and most 'standard' frames around that size are 12" x 18". I'm not going to trim my poster.

Are you actually in Detroit? I know it's a drive if so, but there's a place in Saline that i've had 50+ things framed at and i highly recommend. Their prices are also cheaper than any of the other Ann Arbor area places i scouted out.

It's a crapshoot but sometimes a Goodwill or Salvation Army might have a print in some kind of odd shaped frame that might work for your needs.

Alternately, there are frame sides and backing you can get in non-standard sizing from a Michaels or other hobby store. Not sure if you consider that to be "custom framing" as well.

Worst worst case scenario, get a frame that's close enough and matte it.

My son builds light boxes for posters. I'm gonna ask him about it.

...decide how large you would like the frame and then matte it within the frame to your personal taste ....

That is an idea, but it would have to be a large frame like 20 x 24 to get it all in uncropped vertically. It's looking like I'm going to have to custom-frame it to get what I want.
