I'm not sure that that's not just overdubbed George. Which once again leads me to ask of Andrew:

Not only that, the record pictured was Sonny's chart hit, and a Top 10 at that.

But I suppose the wheels came off with the "Inner Views" album.

Yeah ok. And you need to look up how he's done everywhere but your country.

Glad to see you sticking up for your own, though...:righton:

Scott's first solo album 12 bar blues is great...and barberella is one of the best songs that stp could have ever written.

  9. He had enormous success . . . but then seemed to falter. I like the albums, though.

  10. Too much wine, not enough high notes.

That was my reaction as well. I otherwise always had the impression that even Ridgeley himself never saw himself as a serious musician, that he was just along for the ride with his friend George. I guess the fact that he made that album shows otherwise. Worth noting how completely different its style is from Wham, though.

You should just quit while you're behind. :righton:

I heard it was a complete train wreck. Kinda curious to hear it out of some morbid curiosity.

...and he did have a chart hit in the U.S. and in other territories - the #77 "Shake".

He's a brilliant player, best seen live with the Orient House Ensemble. He's a lovely, funny bloke too but with very strange political views...he went so far left that he re-emerged on the right, but that's enough about that ;)

His playing on this is insane...

Andrew Ridgeley? He did well and married Bananarama's Keren.
    That's what I call a success!

I really like his 1992 Killers band CD. Great stuff but other than that I agree.

I never understood why Wham! were even called a duet and what exactly Ridgeley did there. Somehow I assumed he was George Michael's boyfriend nothing more.

    Oh Wow!

So we are allowed to call a solo career that succeeds only in one country (not true of Weller, of course but stick with me) - The USA, for example, or Canada, a failure?

Now that's what I call a Long List.

Let us start with Kim Mitchell. Very little danger of him getting arrested outside Canada.

Relatively speaking that's true. But a lot of the other acts in this thread would probably love to have the luxury of calling three top ten hits and a dozen or so other chart records "not very successful"!
