In their own minds, yes. If you check the doc on Amazon Prime you'll see how dysfunctional they were, it's a horror show!

i have not heard any of their music, nor have i heard the name, or anything about them.

i have not heard of a band titled blur either. i must be stuck in my (real music) world of real heavy metal.

i must be living under a rock...... or maybe I'm the normal one

I swear I've heard "Champagne Supernova" on the radio about 15 times since this thread started.

I was never into Oasis, but all the made up "facts", weird assumptions, and general negativity in this thread makes me want to check out their albums. Thanks guys.

You only really need the second and third albums plus a best of (Time Flies) and you've got all you need!

I'm sure there were crap acts that played there in the 70's too.

Huh, this album is not what I was expecting, having only previously heard their radio hits. It's not bad at all.

Nope, you need all of their albums and b-sides. Sure, the early stuff is more consistent but if you like The first 2 albums you will find gems throughout the discography.

  17. Only one of the biggest bands in the world could generate 37 pages of bickering on this forum outside of the Beatles.

Is the question of this thread a joke?

Maybe in the deluded minds of both the Gallagher brothers yes!

Yep...or it always helps to have pages upon pages of replies from posters who don't read the tense of the thread title correctly. Or the original post. :D

Yeah, their first album is freaking amazing! you are going to love Oasis, I know did after I discovered them this year. One of the last great rock bands, It's a shame there not talked about in America like the way Nirvana is talked about.

Definitely Maybe –> (What's the Story) Morning Glory? –> The Masterplan –> Don't Believe the Truth

If you like those, there are good tracks strewn across the other albums (some more than others), but the above four are all pretty good start to finish.

For a period in the 90's, they were, without a doubt.
After all the grunge 'I'm miserable and I want to die' attitude, comes a rock band with a great singer, a wonderful songwriter, tons of great rock songs...singing about living forever.
They were arrogant and funny, I still get a kick of Liam and Noel's interviews, they are honest and say what's on their minds. To me they are the last true rock stars! It's all crap these days, with hip hop and american idols product trash! Oasis was the band to put your arm around your friend, having some beers and enjoy life!!! But they had some deep songs too. Ah, and their b sides, other bands would kill to have written songs like The Masterplan, Listen Up, Stay Young, etc...

It amazes me the backlash Oasis get here, but coming from a forum that praises the likes of bland ****e stuff like the Carpenters or the Monkees...

Most casual fans would rate the debut their best, and for hardcore fans its a toss up between the first two. You strangely don't seem to rate it?
