"The Munsters Today" was THE masterpiece drama of the visual arts. The amazing fact that EACH AND EVERY EPISODE won several prime-time Emmy awards for excellence in television amazed all of the critics. I feel that the deep, witty dialogue and superb writing puts "The Munsters Today" into the realm of the dramas of Arthur Miller, Ibsen, or Tennessee Williams. The stars John Schuck and Lee Meriwether have both stated that "The Munsters Today" was the finest acting that they had ever done. It's easy to empathize with Siskel & Ebert who unanimously pleaded with Universal Studios for a full length movie version filmed in 70mm Todd-AO.

I would prefer for Herman to be slightly green than slightly blue -- maybe they could fix this in the 70mm version.

You forgot to mention the sublime acting talents of young Jason Marsden.

His Q-rating was off the charts, and who can forget the widow's peak craze his fame inspired?

If they insist upon doing another Munsters then Brad Garrett needs to play Herman.

I hope they keep it light, airy, and cute like the original series and avoid the trash jokes from shows like 2 Broke Girls.

I've honestly got to say, I'm getting kind of tired of the whole "reboot" thing. This one seems like it'll be a real trainwreck and I was a huge fan of this show when it originally ran.

I think it's just being "developed" at this point, and whether it really gets aired (as a pilot or a TV movie or as a series) will depend heavily on what the network thinks of the initial scripts and so on. I think a lot of classic 1960s shows are very, very hard to redo again because they're kind of stuck in that era. It's rare that you can redo something like these shows, because they tend to fall flat; I'd point to the Man from U.N.C.L.E. movie as one of many examples.

I can see it now; Lily walks in wearing a knitted cap, flannel shirt and black leggings. Herman is on the couch, puffing his vape pen. He's listening to Arcade Fire's newest on vinyl; his man bun is perfectly knotted atop his square head. Little Eddie spends most of his time playing Xbox and watching "GhoulTube". Marilyn is constantly taking selfies of herself wearing short, tight clothing and putting them on Facebook. Grandpa spends all day in the basement listening to 'Batify' streaming services while working on his numerous potions- not to mention, he's on a glucose- free diet.

This is probably far more clever and entertaining than what the real show will end up being.

I think that getting John Williams and perhaps Andre Previn to conduct the 120 piece London Symphony Orchestra for the theme (with its virtuoso tuba solo) would be fitting for the series reboot.
