Darren Aronofsky's new film 'Mother'

i'm picking up a kind of "Rosemary's Baby" vibe from this film which looks fantastic in the trailers. I love good horror films and I think we might expect something special from Aronofsky!

 

Not keen on the director, good cast though. Like the subject matter, horror mystery.

 

You didn't like "Black Swan?"

 

Like bits of The Fountain, the fantasy conquistadors bit.

"Black Swan" was a pretentious mess. Interesting but pretentious.

 

I liked "Black Swan". "Noah" was a big piece of crap. Wretched film. Almost ruined my opinion of Aronofsky.

All very good films, IMO. Interested to see how this will be.

 

Best Picture nominee? Best Actress award for Natalie Portman? Hmm. Not many horror films get nominated for an Oscar. I thought it worked completely.

 

Found the film boring, performance likewise. Somebody liked it. Overrated imo.

 

Well, I respect your opinion. Sometimes it's all about mood. It freaked me out. Maybe you should take another look? Then again, I haven't wanted to watch "Guardians of the Galaxy" again. It's whatever floats your, boat, I guess!

What happened to Bardem, After "No Country ....." No decent movies from Bardem?

 

I like him in ''Vicky Cristina Barcelona'' and ''The Counselor'', ''To the Wonder'' was unwatchable, I'm sorry.

"To The Wonder" was horrible. No need to apologize.

 

I think he's just busy with his children.

 

IMHO The Fountain is the only horrible film he has made. His others are all great. I totally see the Rosemary's Baby thing here.

 

I get where you're coming from...they're not exactly buoyant, optimistic movies. I do want to see Black Swan again though.
