Interesting how we all travel in different circles, as I don't recall ever meeting anyone who didn't like "Lonely is the Word"! :)

The song is just such a perfect ending to the album. And the solos are amongst the best I've ever heard by anyone at anytime anywhere. That he improvised them almost sickens me as much as blows me away, because I could never dream of getting to that level of off the cuff musicality as a guitarist. I know at one time Tony cited it as probably his most proud moment as a soloist.

But the song itself is just tits all around, IMO. Love some of the uniquely Dio-era Sabbath developments in it.

Look no further than in this very thread for at least one person who doesn't like "Lonely is the Word". I know others that don't like it that aren't on this board.

As many have mentioned, not fair to pick just 3 but I went: Paranoid, SBS, and Sabotage. Might change week to week but I just listened to Sabotage last night and Megalomania is in my head. For me there is a top 5 (adding S/T and Master of Reality) then a big drop off. Vol 4 I don't rate as highly as others, maybe that will change as I expect to pick up an early Castle cd today, and don't like Technical Ecstacy at all. Of the later non-Ozzy ones I like Mob Rules best but it is 2nd tier compared to the 5 I listed.

You don't think "Sabotage" compares favorably with "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath?"

There are more cool songs on Dehumanizer than Die, Technical, 13, Headless or Tyrr.

You gotta be kiddin' me. All these records blow away Dehumanizer, even the Tony Martin ones, not to mention TE or 13.
