The critics panned Frank Miller's "The Spirit" but I like it a lot.

Mike Nichols' Wolf (1994) with Jack Nicholson... I don't care what the critics say, I love it.

I recently listed that (in another thread) as one of my five favorite '70s movies. It may not be as great as Nashville and McCabe & Mrs. Miller, but it's my single favorite Altman film.

Yes! Great film. Nell Carter is awesome in that as the maid. Any film with Brian Doyle-Murray and Dabney Coleman is worth having in your DVD collection.

A film about the Great Depression, Japanese and German spies, a near sighted Duchess and the actors from The Wizard Of Oz at a hotel on the verge of bankruptcy. Ladies and Gentleman, the majesty that is 1981's Under The Rainbow!

Cross of Iron is in commonly found in the lists of top WWII films. Not a good candidate for this thread, but it is a really good film.

No political correctness here. Maybe the title of this thread should be "Movies You Love That No One You Personally Know Does".:D

My impression is that it has grown beyond cult status at this point. It seems like, of all Altman's films, this has undergone the greatest re-evaluation. Which is VERY cool.
