Reminds me of the Nilsson song "Remember" - "Long ago, and far away..."

    Brand new Trailer:

This trailer makes me more excited to see this. Much better than the first trailers.

yea, much better. They're certainly selling it as a 'drama with action' like Logan, instead of a rock em sock em action fest

Gah, I hate Zimmer's "music", to me it sounds like he fell asleep face first on his keyboard and someone recorded it.

Don't think this has been posted, but there is a short prequel film now available.

I watched about 15 seconds of a trailer and I stopped right there. I don't want to spoil my enjoyment, the surprises. Can't wait to see this!

You should check out the short prequel film above. It's not a trailer, as the scene it shows isn't in the movie. But it fills in some blanks on events between the first movie and the coming one.

This will be dumbed-down, badly acted and will add nothing to the story. Another disposable film in the long series of meaningless projects Scott has made since Blade Runner.

The running time is apparently 2 hours and 32 minutes, that short film seemed rather un-subtle to me (the character saying "This is wrong" two or three times was really heavy handed) and Villeneuve presumably signed off on this short, so that gives me pause. My expectations are a little lower, I admit, but I'm not calling it anything until I actually see the movie.

Heck, I never did get to see that iteration of the MMC though it's fascinating to see such early versions of those who made a huge impact in later years. My pre-teen viewing was the Tiffini Hale / Brandy Brown / Damon Pampolina / Chase Hampton era. I did get drawn to Keri Russell making her mark and I fell in love with her instantly. Glad to see that she's done very well for herself - and I still need to check out The Americans.

As for Ryan Gosling, no charisma?! Dude like Joseph Gordon Levitt, have definitely paid their dues! By far, two of the better leading talents in Hollywood right now.

And regarding the movie - I think people are underestimating Villeneuve's directorial prowess if you think Blade Runner 2049 is going to be *COUGH* badly acted and dumbed down.

YES! I am very excited for Dune. Currently reading through Children of Dune atm and that being said - I cling to hope that we'll get at least a couple movies out of that very first book. That's the only way we'll get the book done justice. The Sci-Fi Mini Series by John Harrison was a step in the right direction but the CGI in that along with the followup Mini Series of the book I already mentioned, was not only dated but awful as well.

How's that? And if so, why did you say "this will be..." as if you are predicting rather than reporting what you saw.

Villenueve hasn't made junk yet. I've got faith in him.

Because Ridley asked me to speak in future tense when discussing the movie.
