For those who care, Ringo's long OOP "Time Takes Time" saw a vinyl reissue last year on Green, Red AND Yellow vinyl (Japan). Now this fall, we're seeing a (pointless?) blue vinyl issue of Bad Boy (Ringo Starr Bad Boy on Collectors' Choice Music ) which can still be bought sealed on eBay for a reasonable amount.

More importantly, I've just stumbled across a first-ever vinyl release of his Christmas album:
Ringo Starr I Wanna Be Santa Claus on Collectors' Choice Music due later this month. Though I'm on record as thinking it's a pretty poor release, it does give me hope that we might be seeing first-ever vinyl for Vertical Man, Ringo Rama and Choose Love in the future. I know Bad Boy was mentioned elsewhere, but thought it might be useful to have a devoted thread to all these recent (and forthcoming?) reissues.

This is worth a bump for diehard collectors who missed it yesterday!

Does anyone know what is going on with the Bad Boy vinyl release? I see it listed as a 22 September release and also as a 1 December release.
I also see it says available on champagne gold vinyl yet it also says translucent blue vinyl.
    Is there 2 releases?

The blue vinyl edition of Bad Boy benefits Gilda's Club of NYC.

So there is 2? Is the blue only available at a certain place?

Thanks for the update. I've tried to pick up all of Ringo's releases but I'm missing a few. I'd really like to get "... Santa Claus" on LP.

Not for me. I never cared for Hudson's production - to me, he always sounded like he was trying too hard to be a Beatle. I think it's good that Ringo moved on - I like the production on his albums since Hudson left.

I've sought out original UK pressings of all the Ringo Polydor Lp's over the last few years. Sure the music is slight and it's a nostalgia/collector/completist trip, but they all sound fantastic. I only had Rotogravure back in the day on a budget label Aussie Lp. I enjoyed listening to Rotogravure and 4th again (only once admittedly :)). Bad Boy has nice memories, because although I never had a copy, I taped the TV special straight off the TV when it aired on Aussie TV (I was 11). I used to listen to the cassette a bit around that time. I'll probably buy the new vinyl. Maybe :)

I have old copies bought in the 1970s of Ringo's first 2 albums, the standards covers one and the country one(with all my favourite Nashville cats). Would love to see them reissued with care (if they have been already hopefully someone will post the info).

I wish that they would reissue Rotogravure along with the rare magnifying glass. Now that is a rare original LP to find.

Don't forget about Liverpool 8. That hasn't been released on vinyl. Not a great album but a must have for collectors

I would love for them to release the VH1 Storytellers album on vinyl. One of my favorites. I remember when it came out and I got in a music store near times square on cassette!
