I don't know how many of you saw it this evening in your e-mail, but I was going through the latest e-mail from Analogue Productions and saw that Audio Fidelity will be releasing Truth in late October (tentative-as we all know). Oh baby, this'll be hummer-good!
Jeff Beck's Truth 2006 Legacy Edition CD Sounds Incredibly Bad I've never heard a great recording of this album.
Great news, one of my favorite late 60's blues rock albums! Hopefully there is a CD or SACD version available. While a new remaster would be great, this album could really use a new remix. I wonder if the multis still exist...
A great album! It's true, all pressings sound poor, incl. the originals!!! Well, we will see what KG or SH can do.......
Wow. This is welcome news. One of my favorite albums of all time will finally see some real love in the digital era.
The stereo mix is so bad that even a top notch remaster won't make it all that appealing for me. Had they included the mono mix it would've been an instant buy.
Wow...for sure purchase for one of the great rock albums of all time. I was fortunate enough to see this version of the Jeff Beck Group in a small venue in Toronto called the Electric Circus.
WOO-HOO! Bought the Jeff Beck Group Audio Fidelity "Oranges" LP and was very happy with it. Not advertised as 180 or 200 gm but was ... weird.
Fantastic. Rod Stewart fans should also rejoice. I wondered if/when this might be done. I have a Japanese import miniature sleeve. I've tried several CD versions -- none really stood out.
Couldn't disagree more, I have UK/US first pressings STEREO/MONO and Sundazed Mono. They are all very good sounding records compared to the average release. The UK originals are truly excellent records in both content and sound in my opinion on my system.
The copies of Truth and Beck-Ola that I have are both Mastered for CD by Chris Herles. I don't really have any problems with how these sound. EK 47411 ...... Jeff Beck - Truth EK 47412 ...... The Jeff Beck Group* - Beck-Ola
I can imagine. I've bought this title umpteen times, and simply concluded it was poorly recorded and/or mixed to begin with. Prove me wrong! Now if you want a real Jeff Beck challenge, how about tackling the Yardbirds' catalog?
