There is no way they revealed Kylo blowing up Leia.

And that leads me to find the trailer insensitive. Carrie Fisher passed, and they are going to do the same with Leia. They know we will be looking for how they do it. Does it seem very wise to pretend to have Kylo shoot her with a Tie fighter in the trailer as a misdirection?

Maybe Kylo will go to the Light side, and Luke will go to the Dark. That'd be a plot twist!

The spoilers I've read indicate that the creatures have some connection to the Force and/or Luke's refuge on that planet, but who really knows at this point.

So I assume that some of you won't waste your time seeing the movie since you're already bashing it based on the trailer?

My family has tickets for the 16th. If nothing else, if my kids love it then it's worthwhile for me (I'm really looking forward to the movie, personally).

I got my tickets for the 16th as well- my stepson and I are going, the wife and our little guy will likely finish up any last minute Christmas shopping we'll have left. Their loss, I suppose:laugh:

Ha ha, no, the trailer did nothing for me, but I was someone that upon watching the Phantom Menace trailer said, "It's going to be EPIC!" so I don't place much stock in the trailers now. We have our tickets for the 14th of course!

Hey, as long as The Last Jedi is better than Rogue One was, I'll be happy:righton:

I bet there is a lot of people out there, not necessarily in this forum. But in the public who are hating and bashing on the trailer who already have their tickets for opening day. Who also have their scathing review of the movie already written in their head for a film that won't be released for two months.

I’ve heard many things since Monday (mostly praise). A few of that stand out:

“Luke’s a wuss. They ruined one of the greatest characters of all-time. I’m done with this trilogy.”

“Kylo’s wearing a band-aid. Porgs. A planet with red dust. No sale.”

I believe in Rian Johnson. Can’t wait.

This is probably the first Star Wars trailer that I've just felt...nothing. No sense of excitement or magic for me. Lightsabers aside, this might as just been any other action sci-fi movie. I guess I just don't connect to any of the new characters at all. I doubt I'll even go see it in the theater unless the reviews are extraordinary.

That being said, I'm sure the experience is completely different for kids that saw Force Awakens as their first SW film.

Or both sides are going to find some middle ground where they can all work together for the common good. Hmmm.

Seriously, based on the little we've seen in the first trailer, it's possible that there is some middle ground in the Force, a gray area, that has yet to be explored. Furthermore, I believe it's possible that Kylo and Rey will join forces to overthrow Snoke, exploring a potential plot line that is only hinted at in Empire.
