Saw this info on a Dutch website (the translation is from google translate so take it FWIW):

This album features a Deluxe Boxset 5-CD and a Deluxe 4-LP set consisting of the original album with 15 previously released demos, recordings and Never heard songs, Live At The Troubadour '96 + Live a KCRW '96. In addition, the deluxe editions contain liners from music critic Steve Hyden and the original single Outta site (Outta Mind).

    Nice!
I really hope they do sets like this for "Summerteeth" and especially "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" too.

I just hope the CDs aren't mastered as loud as Alpha Mike Foxtrot.

The original "Being There" CD is actually pretty loud, they have a chance to fix that with this reissue.

I'm intrigued by the Being There reissue - 5 discs is pretty generous - and that album was a staple of my college days (along with Summerteeth and YHF). Wilco's website is doing a special on both for $50, which might make AM worth it for me.

I'll have to pick these up. Too bad there wasn't a live disc to add to A.M.

Very exciting news...My interest in Wilco has waned over the past decade or so, but I still go back to Being There all the time...One of my favorite albums from the era and a worthy successor to the big double albums of the 60s/70s.

That Live at the Troubadour show is killer, if it's the one I'm thinking of...I believe it was released as a promo only cassette a little after Being There came out. A friend of mine worked in a record shop and scored a copy, and I remember really digging it.

ORDERED, along with the A.M. special edition. I couldn't help it.
As soon as I saw the email this morning, that was it. And I usually wait on 95 percent of releases.

Everything they put out is loud...I don't have Alpha Mike Foxtrot, is that worse than the regular cds?

Does anyone know off hand if the re-mastered A.M. is import only?

  21. Do we know anything about the mastering? All-analog (for the original albums anyway...)? If so, would be a heck of a lot more compelled to pick these up. I do not have "A.M." in my collection and have an original "Being There".

In general, doesn't all the current Wilco vinyl available sound great? The first 3 albums were recently remastered on vinyl...

I'm pretty sure it is, although I have it as 11/12/96. My source is that promo cassette. What a fantastic show, too. Really shows how great the early lineup was live.

  25. I had the same thought... unless these are new AAA masterings or new Hi-Rez prepped for vinyl, how much more can they remaster them?
