The Smashing Pumpkins are another group that has a stupidly vast amount of miscellanous tracks, most as good as what made the albums! One of the most prolific songwriters of all time, Billy Corgan was just insane in the 90s. As with the Jackson 5 ones, these are sequenced to be heard as "albums". Here's some of my OCD-inspired Pumpkins collections: Reel Time Sessions, The "Chill" Tracks 1. Honeyspider 2. There It Goes 3. Snap 4. With You 5. Bleed 6. Bye June 7. Vanilla 8. Waiting For You Now 9. Waiting 10. Egg 11. Jennifer Ever 12. My Dahlia 13. Rhinoceros 14. Daughter (Extended version) 15. I Am One, Part 2 16. Daydream 17. Daughter (Reprise)

The Mick Ronson Retrospective Non-chronological order, this collection captures Ronson in all facets of his distinguished career: solo artist, guitarist, collaborator and producer/arranger extraordinaire. From his early days in The Rats and Ronno, his substantial work with David Bowie, Mott the Hoople, Ian Hunter, through outings with Bob Dylan, Roger McGuinn, Elton John, Morrissey and even rustic rocker John Mellencamp, among others, this compilation pays tribute to the unquenchable cool and guitar genius of the late great Mick Ronson. Slaughter on 10th Avenue (live) – Live 1980 performance of the instrumental title track to Ronson’s debut solo album released in 1974. Once Bitten Twice Shy – Taken from Ian Hunter’s first post-Mott s/t solo album (originally conceived as a Hunter/Ronson album) this was a major UK hit single in 1975. Don’t Look Down – Opening track off the posthumously released Heaven and Hullin 1994. The Width of a Circle – Early pivotal Bowie collaboration, this track opens The Man Who Sold the World (1971). You and Me – Instrumental from Heaven and Hull. Only After Dark – Minor hit and most famous solo track. Lifted off Slaughter on 10th Avenue. Madman Across the Water – Taken from a 1970 recording session with Elton John, not included on the original release which is strange considering this version outstrips it handily. Colour Me – Another highlight off the marvelous Heaven and Hull. Angel No.9 – Originally a Ronson-produced Pure Prairie League song, Mick liked it so much he rerecorded himself it for his second solo album Play Don’t Worry(1975). Perfect Day – Ronson’s imaginative arrangements and production were all over Lou Reed’s Transformer (1972), none more so than on this timeless, yet disturbing classic. Moonage Daydream – The pinnacle of Ronson’s powers as lead guitarist for Bowie on The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars (1972). Hard Life – A track taken from Just Like This (1999) an album of materiel recorded between 1976 and 1977 for an unreleased third Ronson solo album. Power of Darkness – Pre-Bowie band Ronno dating back to 1970, recorded for an album that was never completed due to the Spiders going stratospheric. Man O’ War – Taken from towering Ian Hunter double live album Welcome to the Club (1980) with Ronson and band firing on more cylinders most could only dream of. Jack & Diane – Mellencamp’s best and most successful hit song lifted from his American Fool (1982) album. Ronson provides guitar, percussion and is responsible for the bridge on this solid track. F.B.I (live) – Instrumental and Ronson showcase with the Ian Hunter band recorded in Cleveland, included in the bonus materiel for Hunter’s excellent You’re Never Alone With a Schizophrenic (1979) reissue. Shelter From the Storm – Ronson unexpectedly joined Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue and shows up on his Hard Rain (1976) live album. Rock and Roll Time – A track off ex-Byrd Roger McGuinn’s 1976 solo album Cardiff Rose where Ronson contributes guitar and production duties throughout. I Feel Free – Originally a Cream song, left off Bowie’s Pin Ups (1973) revisited on loungey Black Tie White Noise (1993) – here, Ronson plays guitar. Sea Diver – Appropriate closer to this retrospective, Ronson provides strings and brass arrangements for this Hunter-penned closer off Mott the Hoople’s All the Young Dudes (1972)….ride on my son…. indeed.

Nothing from Michael Chapman's 'Fully Qualified Survivor'? Some magnificent Ronson contributions across the album. Best Wishes, David
These tracks come from various boot CD's and sources. The Idle Race was the group Jeff Lynne was in prior to The Move and the Electric Light Orchestra. I have listened to EVERY Idle Race BBC track I could get my hands on. I boiled it down to one CD with the most variety and best quality. The last track is THE MOVE doing "The Birthday." I felt like I just had to include it. I wasn't even aware it existed till two years ago. If a song is on there twice it should be a different performance. I worked with the 'problem' tracks and 'massaged' them and did EQ work. Some tracks are in EXCELLENT fidelity and others vary from Good to Very Good. Only one really has a skip and is noticeably incomplete, but it was not represented otherwise and I found it worthy of inclusion. I did a lot of De-Clicking and fixed what I could as far as drop-outs and other flaws went. THE IDLE RACE - BUSY AT THE BEEB 1. Pop Session Intro 2. Love Me Two Times #1 3. Born to Be Wild 4. 3.5 years in total between the initial lossy 192kbps mp3 sources and the current sources. And I still keep an ear out for even better sounding sources!
Thankyou! If only record companies were to put so much dedication and love into supporting artists. Would love to see any of your other compilations/sets. Best Wishes, David
I wanted to get as many of my favorite DC5 tracks onto a single CD-R with as many in STEREO as possible and in as high a quality as possible. Most originated in lossless form and a few did not. I have given credit on all of the digital stereo creations. I left out some UK chart hits from the later years that I just don't care for too much (and already have on two other comps). I included some of my favorite album tracks and B-sides. I kept comparing the charting 45's they had in the US and UK to help with my decisions. My choices were made after listening to just about every DC5 track I could find. Some flaws that are present on every digital version of a couple of the tracks I fixed. From 2011 and updated last year. BEST of THE DAVE CLARK FIVE 1. Glad All Over* 2. I Know You 3. Bits and Pieces (Stereo 45 Synch by Mixfixer)* 4. All of the Time 5. Do You Love Me* 6.
