If you bought via Ticketmaster, search your inbox and junk filter for an email from Ticketmaster with this subject line: IMPORTANT: Your Robert Plant Ticket Order

I got that about 2 weeks ago and should have the CD by the end of the week. It should be valid till the end of next March.

“Some people don’t get it,” said Justin Adams, one of the band’s two guitarists, and a specialist in Middle Eastern and African sounds. “Why are you interested in the blues and devotional music from Pakistan? It’s not out of geographical interest, particularly. It’s about transporting music that really takes you somewhere — a beat that makes you feel a slight sense of dread and foreboding.”

Did you have to register to get the cd? If so, do you have the link? I never received anything that I'm aware of.

A DR of 6 doesn't sound promising but it's sounding very good, if this came in the vinyl age I don't think dynamics would be seen as a problem.

Too early to comment in an informed way about the music but it does sound like he may have hit the heights of Lullaby again, I intend to give it a good listen over the weekend

Listening to my Auto Rip while waiting for CD. Sounds great to my ears. Plant is unafraid to take chances and that perhaps makes him unique amongst his generation. Great band too. Can't wait for the show.

Would have liked Plant to go more in the "Honeydrippers Pt. II" direction solo. Not a "world music" fan here...

Listening as I type and the absence of Juldeh Camara means that the World Music elements just doesn't seem to be present here, which to me is a bit of a dissapointment

Just got my vinyl. Comes in a nice heavy thick card stock. Black poly lined inners and side D is etched, so music on three sides. Has CB in the dead wax!

  16. Judging by this forum, I thought we were still living in the "vinyl age"?

I see the hi rez just popped on HdTracks 24/96 - anyone get this yet? Vinyl arriving here today.

Been listening for the past week. Any time I say anything remotely critical about the Zep boys I feel the need to qualify my comments first. I am a lifelong Zep fanatic and also a huge fan of Roberts solo work, mainly everything up to and including 1993's Fate Of Nations. And of course....I fully realize this is not 1971...heck, it's not even 1988. Or 1998. :)

With that said, he pretty much lost me after Mighty Rearranger. My problem has nothing to do with the fact that he no longer records balls out rock. He is to be commended for experimentation and not playing it safe. My problem is a performance issue and I should mention I have had this issue with all of his studio work since Walking Into Clarksdale. Anyone who has seen Robert live can attest to the fact that he still possesses a powerful voice with a strong midrange. But in the studio, he insists on employing this whispering, mumbling delivery - like he is afraid to wake the children :) And that is what makes releases like Lullaby....Ceaseless Roar and Carry Fire such a tough listen for me. I really do believe a good producer would have benefited Robert in a big way. Someone with the guts to say - "Hey Robert....that was pretty good but let's try it again, this time try to emote a little more and how about taking that last part an octave higher?" I also believe the live versions of the Carry Fire songs will eclipse their studio counterparts as they evolve and gestate (like they should have done in the studio.) This again (to my ears) has been the case with his studio output since WIC......

With that said, performance issues aside. I really do like "Seasons Song" a lot. But then again, "A Stolen Kiss" is my favorite song from the last album. This is where Roberts hushed, almost androgynous vocal delivery works best. "Carving Up The World Again" is a catchy tune as well. The title track had the potential to be a monster, with it's middle Eastern tonality, but in my opinion -it never gets out of 1st gear. Aside from that, this release is failing to move me in a positive way. Reading the reviews around the internet and the comments here and on other forums - I realize I am in the minority.

However, I am not giving up. Perhaps tonight via headphones with an adult beverage...and fully immersed in it - it will all "click" with me :)

It happens all the time actually -- when the chemistry works well in a band, the whole is more than just the sum of the parts.

The vinyl sounds AWESOME! I mean....really nice.:righton: The title track just rose to a nice crescendo. Does anyone remember dynamics? :)

    Somebody help me out here...

In the song "New World." Specifically when Robert sings the lines, "They're barely human, it's time to move them" where have we heard that melody before? It's driving me nuts. A U2 song perhaps??? It's definitely reminding me of something.

A little late to the party but just checked out ticket prices for Mr. Plants visit to the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis. $230 (balcony) to $440 for floor seats. I guess that dream is dead...
