The MoFi cleaner is good, Lyra SPT is better...

I just let it go into the blu tax about 4 times after every couple of sides. My needle is always spotless, although I don’t buy a lot of used records. I feel more safe than using a wet cleaner.

I do the blu-tak thing every 10 LPs or so. I'd be nervous to do it with more frequency. I clean and play lots of used records.

No need to be nervous. From what I gather, liquid is more harmful. Also, if you are using it every 10 LPs then your needle is going to be accumulating too much dirt imo...

I can't imagine paying $17 for a special stylus cleaner. I buy small bottles of 99% alcohol, it is an excellent solvent that will quickly evaporate and will not leave a residue. That and a small amount of Blu-tak should be all that you ever need.

Follow KT88's advice, and do not drench the cantilever with alcohol. Let it sit for a minute or two before using.

It is not necessary to spend a lot of money on specialty cleaning products.

It's also not a bad suggestion, to start with clean records.

The best I've ever used is

    Stylus Cleaner

Easy, safe, effective. I even wore out my first one. And after a few years the accululated stylus "gunk" is quiet amazing.

Well, I brush and ME with more frequency. Every 10 LPs seems ok with the blu-tak.
