I could've sworn there was already a thread about this but I couldn't find one, so...

What films would you like The Criterion Collection to release?

    My suggestions:

And anything and everything from Zhang Yimou (Raise The Red Lantern, The Story of Qiu Ju, and Hero in particular)

I'm with you 100% on this one. But there isn't even a blu-ray yet (at least in the US), let alone a deluxe edition.

Since they have covered Chaplin, and Lloyd Legacy, how about Laurel & Hardy at some point?

They still need to finish off the series of United Artists Chaplin films with THE CIRCUS and A WOMAN OF PARIS. Would love to see them do A KING IN NEW YORK after that, and A COUNTESS FROM HONG KONG, but the latter has never been very well-regarded and I believe Universal had or has the home video rights to it (they released an earlier DVD).

Two come to mind right off the bat...

    Macario (1960, Roberto Gavaldòn)
Beautiful film, one of my favorites and a gem of Mexican cinema has been poorly preserved. I wonder if a master exists.

    Cammina, Cammina (Keep Walking)
    (1983, Ermanno Olmi)
Unforgettable Italian film steeped in lore (like Macario) not very well preserved. I'd love a director's firsthand take while he's still with us! A career doc would be fantastic as well. Olmi's résumé is certainly impressive.

I'm selfish... I want more Kubrick titles. The Killing, Paths of Glory, Spartacus, Dr. Strangelove and Barry Lyndon have all been released by Criterion. Spartacus of course never being issued on Blu ray – yet.

I would love for Criterion to do the remaining titles and maybe start with 2001 since next year is the 50th Anniversary. One can dream...

I've heard this film's been butchered into multiple versions through the years. I
would love to see a complete uncut version.
