If we can have a Dylan Bootleg Series Volume 15 thread before 14 is even announced we can have a 2018 Dave's thread...

    What we know so far:
DaP25 - Dave "can't believe is coming out"
DaP26 - Is "under the radar"

I'll go with some tasty '67 for volume 25; who could believe that?

Keep checking Dead.net and be sure to subscribe this year to limit panic. If you want the bonus disc (who doesn't?), there is usually a 3 week window that ends around Thanksgiving. If you miss that, there is a non-bonus disc window that usually runs thru Christmas.

For 2018 I would like to see:
    • 1967-68
    • 1970 second quarter
    • 1979-82
    • 1973

    My guesses are:

25 - 9/19/70. The can’t believe it portion of the hint makes me think it’s a show that had been missing from the vault and that it’s a show thought lost.

26 - Under the radar, but a great show makes me think it is Sept 73 (would love 9/11/73 with part of 9/12 as a bonus) or June/July 1976. A lot of high quality shows, but not in the same popular air as Fall 73 or May 77 among fans.

There are a lot of great shows in ‘85 - particularly diverse set lists. I would love some 79-85 picks if they can just get the sound and pitch right.

    I would prefer not, personally.

As much as I love this idea, the history does not point to this as a show "missing from the vault" rather it is one that was never recorded with Bear out of commission. Hopefully this is all a big misunderstanding and pristine reels are being Plangent processed as we speak!

Any of the above would be rad. An Acoustic Set show is so freaking overdue! It's MENTAL !!!

I think 25 will either be this or one of those mid-‘73 epics.

It seems as though the missing reel for the early show is now in the vault.

^Def satisfies the "I can't believe this show/s is coming out." comment.
A show that will also push subs. And how! Arguably more legendary than 2/14/70.

I just played DS from 91970. Man I hope they have this whole show. Also I like your series name, it reminds me of the early album from Sunburned Hand of the Man "Piff's Clicks". Or was pucks a typo?

I love 4/8/85 and the night before even more.......but the bronchial frog that stole Jerry's voice will probably put a halt to any Spectrum 85 releases.

Putting out what's their next most famous unreleased show (after Cornell,) and what's almost certainly their most famous guest appearance as a Dave's Pick is a blunder that's so GDM, I'm sure that 2-11-70 is going to be pick number 25.

The gross for 18,000 copies at 28 bucks is ~$485,000. That seems like a pretty small pie to carve up between Duane Allman, Gregg Allman, Trucks, Berry Oakley, Fleetwood, Kirwan, and Peter Green, plus possibly Arthur Lee and possibly even others, (or for the most part their heirs and/or agents) not to mention the Grateful Dead.

Supposedly they've never been able to get a deal done for this show, I can't imagine how 'reduced price to subscribers, extremely limited direct mail release with no possibility of digital sales' has managed to sweeten the pot. But...stranger things have happened.

The portion that we know exists was recorded by the Fillmore East staff. I haven't heard any speculation about what happened to the rest of the show, that is, did they just not record it for some reason? Did they record it but it was never leaked and is somewhere in Bill Graham's former vault, etc.

I think that portions of what we know exists from that September 1970 Fillmore East run could make a good 3 CD set, centered around 9-20-70, but that doesn't seem to be Dave's MO. He seems to like to put out shows that haven't been circulated in full.

I'm rooting for that 6-17-91 show that was rumored for DP23.

I believe it was recorded, along with 9/20, by Fillmore East staff and there may be reels either in Bill Graham’s vault or in the possession of some staff member. The type of thing that could easily get back to the Vault with little fanfare.

We can only have four, so here is my 2018 wish list:

June 24, 1970 - Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY

May 26, 1973 - Kezar Stadium, San Francisco, CA

May 19, 1974 - Portland Memorial Coliseum, Portland, OR

February 26, 1977 - Swing Auditorium, San Bernardino, CA

I would be absolutely elated if even ONE of those is released in the next batch.

I can easily see you getting one of your picks - I think 2/26/77 the likeliest.

I’ll take my sure to be wrong guess at the next 4:

25 - 9/19/70, Fillmore East, New York, NY

26 - 9/11/73, William & Mary, Williamsburg, VA with portions of 9/12 as the bonus disc

    27 - 10/30/77, Assembly Hall, Bloomington, IN

    28 - 6/22/74, Jai-alai Fronton, Miami, FL
