    Jump - Van Halen
Say Say Say - Paul McCartney & Michael Jackson
    Holiday - Madonna
Nobody Told Me - John Lennon
    So Bad - Paul McCartney

I really didn't like, and didn't give Duran Duran, a fair listen back in the day.

    I was wrong, very wrong.

Halcyon days. Chose 20. I listened to a lot of radio back then. Great memories

Nice write-ups for Cyndi and The Smiths and the Nina Hagen one is hilarious even though I don't agree!

A lot of the Smash Hits/No.1 reviews were quite mean considering they were both 'light' pop mags.

Yes they could be somewhat scathing, particularly when other artists were doing the reviews!

I remember Hue & Cry doing a really spiteful singles reviews page in SH.. It wasn't as if they were a world class act themselves.:)

And Morrissey slating Cyndi Lauper for not being “musical”...much as I love the Smiths and much of his solo output, I would wager that he struggles with pitch, control and a very limited range in comparison!

Ughhh, I absolutely hated Hue & Cry, I couldn't name one song of theirs. They thought they were so fantastic as well..

I posted their reviews page on the press cuttings thread. Sadly it won’t be there now due to the Photobucket debacle.

"Owner Of A Lonely Heart" clearly showed a bit of Police / Sting influence there. Jon Anderson at times sounded almost Sting-esque, don'tcha think? Especially if played back-to-back with "Wrapped Around Your Finger." (Just as I heard, the other day, "Africa" by Toto, followed directly by Sia's "Cheap Thrills.")

As for what I have: #13 and 24. That's basically it.
