I have no idea how I could honestly pick five albums and say they're my favorites. It's not like there have been five albums I play far more than others--I'm very OCD in that I've always listened to music systematically, for maximum variety. I pretty much only listen to music two ways: (1) I play through entire discographies in chronological order of the many hundreds of artists I'm a fan of , and (2) I keep those entire discographies "loaded" (starting almost 30 years ago I did this via large-capacity CD players, then it was iTunes/iPods and now streaming) and play either albums or tracks on shuffle. And that's it.

There are literally hundreds of albums that I love as much as I can love any album.

There aren't even five genres I love far more than others. I routinely collect 30-50 genres (depending on how you divide them up). So it's not as if I could even pick something like a token poster child for each of five favorite genres.

Northern Soul and Grace are two of my all time favourite albums. I get where you are coming from, how you can relate to the lyrics on Northern Soul because you are from the north

That was also explain, coming from North London, why I love The Kinks so much. The 'Arthur' LP, in particular, could be about my family.

'A Northern Soul' is a superb record though, even for a Londoner.

When I see so many people's Top Fives...I just can't do it. Each post/user has an amazing handful of classics that I could never narrow it down to just five, which just makes me lurk and respect those w/ defined and definite favourites. It's simply beyond me...

I'm not into Electronic stuff, but this is a great album. My neighbor turned me on to Mezzanine, and Tweekend by Crystal Method. I already had Connected by the Stereo MC's so that's three albums from that genre for me now. And when you're in the mood for that kind of stuff, it's awesome!

Jesus Christ superstar is an amazing album . The remastered (about 5 years ago i think) version sounded awesome. It doesn't make my top 5 but I don't know what albums do I will have to think about it.

I'm so used to burning my own "Best Of"compilation cds that it's rare for me to listen to albums anymore. So while these might be my five favorite albums (today), I still think I'd get bored if these were all I had to listen to on a desert island...

The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
    Aerosmith - Rocks
Peter Frampton - Frampton Comes Alive
Led Zeppelin - Presence (just barely over P.G.)
Bruce Springsteen - (a truncated version of) The River
