They were $1.25 when I when I was last buying, and the more niche stuff or better paper/ink stuff went up to maybe $2.25. For me, aside from Kirby, peak Thor was Walt Simonson and those maxed out at around 75 cents.

I don't read them much anymore, but after Walking Dead started, I borrowed some from a friend and read the first 100 issues in less than 10 hours. At $3.99 an issue, comics are dead in the water as far as I'm concerned. And as far as your average kid making paper delivery money or AdSense money or allowance or however little kids get money these days, a video game at $50 that you can play for 6 months straight and which leverages your home internet connection and allows network play destroys comic books as a value proposition. A kid could probably read $50 worth of comics in an hour.

They're absurdly and disgustingly expensive when you consider that, historically, the primary market was children. Some friends of mine own comic book shops in NYC and I have no idea how they make enough money to pay the rent and employees, but they do. They're selling stuff, but I doubt many kids are buying $4 comics.

Yeah, the ONLY place for kids to have true access these days is the local library! That's what I do. As far as costs go, you can never beat FREE!

Anyone else tired of seeing Cate Blanchett or Jeff Goldblum everywhere?

Until Marvel gets the rights back for movie version Silver Surfer, I will be unsatisfied overall. Doctor Strange did deliver, tho. I want the real, bona fide, early Defenders.... Even if Daredevil is awesome.

I'm OK with Blanchett but from the little clip I saw on TV (Graham Norton Show) , Jeff Goldblum seems to be camping it up a little too much. He was a pain in the ass in the interview also.

It was good but I bet the next chapter will be even better (hopefully in another dimension fighting Dormamu).

Just watched it. Some funny scenes and a few surprises in the story. Well worth watching.
There's an extra scene during the credits and another one after it's over.

Saw this moofie tonight. I LOLed out loud quite a few times. One alien with a Kiwi accent was choice, bro. There's even a balrog.

A couple of scenes were filmed around here (standing in for New York, and various waterfalls).

    God help me!
I find the theme to "Fraggle Rock" is stuck in my head every time I see the word "Ragnarok"

Saw it this evening. A total blast and simply hilarious. Go see if you are fan of the Marvel movies.

What happened to Thor's dual identity as a Doctor Donald Blake?

I don't think the movies ever addressed it. IIRC, the comics moved away from that as well.
