Sure, 2 simple words, "Buyer beware!" And leave it at that.

Since yr collecting for quality, I'd recommend in the future, asking the seller for a picture of the item yr purchasing,
so there are no mistakes when u receive it.

I suggest you read post #40, the dude seems to have things right. Learn from this, buy elsewhere, case closed.

Honestly, I'd had such good experiences in terms of CD condition that I didn't think it was necessary. Even when a CD was "over-graded", it was still acceptable to me.

Although I'm a collector, I'm not obsessed with quality - I don't demand NM or better. I'm fine with some marks/small scratches.

I just wasn't prepare for the obviousness and severity of the marks on these CDs. I can deal with some "signs of use" but these went too far...

    That's a good blurb - thanks!

I never intended to call the guy "crazy", but I wanted to convey how difficult he was. Your blurb says it well! :righton:

Totally agree with 'kwadguy", with what he suggested, i know it's tempting to put what you really think down, but at the end of the day it's a case of the feedback needs to stay up there so others can read it, and maybe follow suit in the future.

    Sellers can only leave +

Your review should read: "Overgraded, return was difficult"

Any character assassination or mention of "had to get eBay involved" will result in a removal.

It's very hard to get negative feedback to stay up. It hurts eBay's bottom line to discredit a seller. Often a persistent seller will get legit - removed just by continued calling until he catches the right person's ear, regardless of right or wrong. They also remove - as a courtesy to the seller if he is in otherwise good standing.

"Had to get eBay involved" will NOT get removed. I've used that line more than once with sellers who know how to game the system, and they were not able to get it removed (and it pissed them off to no end).

Just saw Psycho Boy left feedback for me.

There's a positive rating but here's the content:

"EXTREME NEGATIVE!MADE FALSE CLAIMS,AFTER Confirming CD played Fine as described"

Should I contact eBay to get it removed? I made zero false claims!

In years past eBay would remove that feedback absolutely, but they've tweaked the system a little bit now and you should actually be able to remove it yourself. Visit the Feedback Forum and follow the steps. You'll keep the positive rating but it will show up as "This comment has been removed by eBay".

Attention o***a your "positive" feedback is still there for all to see, maybe he is still angry from those 35 power supplies he did not receive 6 months ago. :) I will avoid this guy like the plague.

eBay should remove this, I don't believe they allow "negative positive" feedback against buyers.

Did you already leave the seller a well-deserved negative? If not, he is really asking for a juicy (-) by leaving that for you.

I quite frequently see negative comments attached to "positive" feedback. I wonder if the people who do that are really that inept or if they think you'll overlook it if they do it that way.

Suggestion: Leave him a similarly "positive" rating but call him "insane" in your actual comment!

You could also reply to his feedback. Maybe something like:

"CD had bad scratches, and they were NOT described."

I found the psycho seller's profile on ebay and I'm having a good laugh at the cd's he's offering and the prices he's asking. Most of these, you could get on Amazon marketplace for $0.01 plus shipping. :biglaugh:Clearly somebody has been trolling the thrift shops.

Yeah, he's asking silly prices for a lot of common CDs. The Elton stuff I got is actually rare - that's why I paid a semi-premium - but he doesn't have a clue about real pricing...

95% of the sellers here at SHF have been great for me. But that last 5%? Ouch. Real losers, and I simply decided not to leave any feedback at all in my transactions with them, make sure I never deal with them again, and avoid the hassle of a pi**ing match.

At least here you can ask Gorts to intervene if there's an issue. Less easy to deal with things at eBay - thought they really were great when it came to working through my claim.

I'm still semi-astonished how rapidly they processed my refund. Once this seller went off the deep end with all those harassing emails - and then the threat to call the police! - I guess they realized they had a nut on their hands and they wanted to finish off the deal as quickly as possible...

I thought you were very generous with your offer in this case. Amazing that he balked at that. If I had offered a 50% refund as a solution and got that attitude back I'd have filed a paypal right away. That seller is lucky he had you as a buyer in this case. I hope he's not selling on here still with that attitude.

Generally "vg" means junk and it does not mean "very good" at all, but "heavily used". I would never buy a vg item, unless it was a very rare record that I just wanted to have any copy at all of. I think as for discogs grading guidlines, this CD was correctly graded:

"Quite a few light scuffs/scratches, or several more-pronounced scratches. This has obviously been played, but not handled as carefully as a VG+.

Insert/Inlay/Booklet/Sleeve/Digipak: More wear, marks, indentations than a VG+. May have slight fading, a small tear/rip, or some writing."

However ebay apparently uses grading guidlines that are totally different and diverge quite radically from any other grading guidlines that I know. I'd like to side with the seller when it comes to the basic facts, but does not excuse him for harassing the buyer.

I would leave him negative feedback and just keep it simple and truthful. "Reported to eBay for excessive threatening emails". That's all it takes...
