That's an interesting one....will it sound better compared to this year's version on vinyl?

I am curious about the 2017 mix ,and i don`t "need" the 2xlp, so i am in for this one.

“Sourced” rather than “cut” from the tapes?

Sure, I'm interested in this. Their pressings of the Blue and Red albums are great!

The 2 LP set was pressed by Optimal in Germany, who I find to be pretty good. Although QRP is cutting the single LP edition, don’t expect it to sound better, unless it was recut, which I doubt.

Apologies. I meant if QRP is pressing the single LP edition, not cutting...

It will be from very good files - not to worry!

It says "Manufactured by QRP"... not newly mastered. My guess is they will use metal parts sourced from the same lacquers as the original 2017 remix vinyl. I'm good with the 2017 copy I have. The pressing I have is nice, quiet, and flat. I can't imagine the new pressing being any better.

They're already talking about this on the Beatles Christmas releases thread.

I think we can all agree that it needs its own, independent thread for discussion.

Are we doing one for the picture disc too? Or just this one because it's QRP?

  19. But we are still speaking of the somewhat heavy handed Giles remix, right? Better pressing can't help the tracks that don't sound that great (especially Kite) Hmmmm.

I like the remix that Martin did. I've never listened to the CD release but I think the record sounds good. I'm sure QRP will do a fine job but I'm happy with the pressing I have.

Right, this is exactly the same mix/mastering that is on the Optimal pressing.

Because it’s QRP. There’s a lot more to discuss regarding mastering and pressing quality than a picture disc.

Will sound just as bad as the 2Lp version!

  25. Well to be fair, the second LP sounds fantastic. It's only the first LP that disappoints IMHO
