Is there any update on when the Louisiana Hayride set will actually be released. I hope that Amazon.de price holds if you placed it.

Amazon.de says it will be released on November 24th and dispatched on the 27th. The pre-order price is still locked at under EUR 100, so far.
The regular price, however, has been EUR 174.99 for a few weeks now.

What do you think of our Benny, GBTT? He's got a great voice and the music is as good as it gets. CD's like this are VALUE, chock full of great music and a booklet so thick you can barely stuff the thing back in the case. I'm with Pappy Daily 'why didn't he make it big'. Rates as a 'Double Hot Dang' from me!

This box set starts on #500 and ends on #675. There are a few records listed in the book that are not on the CDs – sadly, after 30 years of collecting (and in some cases for other collectors, 40+ years) these records simply haven’t turned up yet. All in all, this set includes 312 tracks on 10 CDs, and comes with a 116-page, LP-sized hardcover book with label pictures and liner notes about each single.

I think you are right about Ernie's not being around for much longer. I have a long list of things in my cart that are continually out of stock, something isn't right with all these coupons, and nothing to buy.

    Where did you find it?

  15. This finally arrived from Amazon and it's great stuff. I had never heard Red Foley's Frosty the Snowman before, which was a nice treat. It claims to have a couple of rarities.

I got that $300 coupon too. Since he stopped selling Bear Family and Ace, I can't find a single thing there that I want.

Have you noticed some distortion on that song and White Christmas with Eddy Arnold.
That distortion is not on the cd box with Eddy:

Maybe it's just me, but that link only takes you to the blog. There is no ordering option that I can see, nor is it listed on their website.

Not just you. I can't find an ordering option either. I'm glad you posted though because I thought I was losing my mind. Even if I still am, at least I'm not alone! :)

It's a very solid collection. With so much great material, I'm surprised only the title track became anything resembling a hit.

If anyone else recorded "gospel bop" like this, please let me know, folks.

Fabulous! Thanks for the heads-up. I'll absolutely be getting this, as well as the second volume once it's announced. Too bad that 19 singles remain unlocated; with any luck the increased exposure from this set will help them be found.
