Nothing to feel bad about, this has been a great experience. And like I said if you start up a VH thread I'll check in and add some comments. I like Roth era VH a lot more than KISS and six albums isn't a lot to get through in comparison to this.

I won't go any further than that, however. I don't enjoy Van Hagar at all, don't like the songs they did with him except for maybe one or two. From what I've heard Hagar comes across to me as trying too hard to be like Roth..but had none of his panache, talent and charisma to pull it off.

See?? You've already got me started!!!

I thought I could definitely avoid thinking about Sammy Hagar by doing an Iron Maiden thread, but of course they covered two Montrose songs so there you go.

    GOD OF THUNDER(DEMO)

The beat makes it sound almost like a disco song. Obviously, it's awesome that Paul gave this song to Gene to sing.

    LOVE THEME vs. MAINLINE: "Mainline"

BTW, we're coming up on page 1000.

MAINLINE! sorry but Love Theme sounds like a song that would play durring the credits of some 70s cheeezy weekly sitcom . With Kissin'Time as the opening theme. Guest staring Charo & Charles Riley......

Just curious, what are your thoughts on Montrose?

I liked Montrose. Wasn't crazy about him with Winter

Another hard one. I think Mainline, though I'm probably in the minority.

If the first 3 albums, do you have vinyl or CD or digital? (I currently have none except digital via a box collection. I'd like to have vinyl again.)

Of Paul''s guitars, which do you like best?

Iceman or V or Firebird or something else?

    GOD OF THUNDER (Demo)

The first time I heard this, my reaction was much like @William Smart's. It just didn't feel right at all, obviously based on what we knew the song to be after years of hearing the slowed-down, menacing DESTROYER version.

But you know what? On its own, this is pretty kick-ass! Had we come to know "God Of Thunder" in this format, we would have been denied the definitive "Demon" song that it became, but I think it would still be a fan favorite from this era. Having said that, it's easy to understand Ezrin's thinking, and why he made the changes he did. But I like Paul's version of this song a lot.

Still have my vinyls too. I used to put new releases on tape and then save the vinyl. So most of them are in excellent shape. B4 I started taping them though they got beat no matter how hard I tried to keep them clean. I probably have 4 copies of the White Album, Dark Side, Apostrophe. Played the hell out of some of them trying to learn songs.

People (with my little impersonation of Paul) we're on the page 1000!
Wow, this has been one helluva ride. That's really great and thanks for all the people here contributing.
One of my absolute favorite threads here and it was great to see Kiss get such epic thread and talk around it surely deserved it.

Well, obviously, after 40 some years, not terrific, but they’re still playable.

Based on looks alone, it's hard to beat the Ibanez PS1 signature model -

The Flying V. I don’t like his custom models at all. I think they look terrible. I’ve never liked any bass that Gene has played except the Gibson models. Call me more of a traditionalist (and you’d be right!).
