Thanks for the update. This is EXACTLY like the Bluray interface of Archives Volume 1. (The timeline looks slightly different, but it's the same principle). There is nothing new here. It seems Neil and his team has just transfered what they did with the Archives Bluray to a website. In that case, why is taking so long ?
me too. I still hope that he will also release it on a physical format as the average Neil Young fans are mostly not so in the download business.
Yeah I like it too, some clumsy lyrics (to be expected from Neil these days) however I really enjoy it!
From Neil on instagram. I just hope the 90s albums are released as hi res downloads as well. I wonder if Eldorado will be included in this?
Just saw this on Facebook Hi there, December 1st will be a big day for me. The Visitor will be coming to your town. I will be going to my town. You will be able to hear me and see me. My archive will open on that same day, a place you can visit and experience every song I have ever released in the highest quality your machine will allow. It’s the way it’s supposed to be. In the beginning, everything is free. Lots of Love, neil
Yes...let's keep this thread free of lies and speculation. Cheers to the arrival of the Archives -- think he means EVERYTHING? Or do you suspect it will be unveiled in small parts over the years?
Oooh, interesting. I'd still like to get a physical Vol 2 at some stage to keep my Vol 1 company, but am intrigued to see exactly how the online archives will work. Hopefully we'll get clarification soon on what the plan is going forward - online with individual releases or online, individual releases and boxset (or some other variation).
I'm also wondering how the songs will be organized. Will they be grouped by album or just one long list in alpha order. Hopefully there will be a good search function.
That was my first thought too. Hoping to be proved wrong and we'll get even one or two nice bonuses but I'd say it's doubtful at the beginning.
