Off Morricone's soundtrack for "L'Alibi" (1969), right up my alley!

This sounds like The Feelies or at least another punk/alt-rock band. The guitar playing is very unique for its time. Fantastic track!

I can usually get some "Wow!"s from people who've never heard the Chad and Jeremy albums Of Cabbages And Kings and The Ark, especially if they're familiar with their AM radio hits.

Wonderous. Red Bird released a lot of fantastic singles in a short time. This is one I think is just perfection:

I have a very well played and crackly copy of that Red Bird Goldies LP and in spite of it's flawed condition, it gets a lot of play. Every track is a joy to listen to. I just wish more of it was more well known.

Perhaps they're not obscure enough these days for the purposes of this thread, but they're still great tracks.

Never heard of these guys until this very day when they popped up in my Youtube suggestions list. Unfortunately it's rather crackly but I thought this one was the best song of the four I listened to (all were decent, and from 1968-70).

I love this album, Mark Eric's "A Midsummer's Day Dream", it's sort of a latter-day Pet Sounds from 1969. Here's two of the best tracks from the LP:

    Did I post here, yet?
If not, here is a favorite, obscure bit of Bay area jangle.
