Grateful dead LP disappearing over the horizon...

Well, an 'arrival date' as opposed to a cancellation at this price sounds great to me!

 

Anyone had a shipping notification on the Dead set ? I've had no communication from Amazon on either of the pair I ordered.

A few days ago, I opened a "chat" line with Amazon UK asking when mine would ship. It was originally listed as shipping Oct 30, then when this date passed it changed to "shipping soon".

They said they would ask the shipping department to ship it "immediately" but could not confirm that they actually had any copies in stock. I recently got a followup email notifying me that the ship date has been pushed back to Nov. 20.

I think the set may be OOP. Who knows how many copies are still out there in the pipeline, if any. I doubt I will ever see it, but no harm in putting in an order at that great price.

Dick's Picks vol 1 vinyl £7.27. Temporarily out of stock so who knows if they'll deliver. Worth a go!

 

I don't know... I'm a bit hesitant to take suggestions from a guy who looks like he is being goosed by something VERY large!

 

Few minutes (or seconds) after I placed an order the price raised to £121.28. Fingers crossed.

 

There's been quite a few deals like this on Amazon UK the past few weeks where the item is OOS. The fact that the majority of them are LPs released years back makes me think very few will come back in stock. Ive got about a dozen of these titles on order though, so even if only the odd one comes through I'll be happy.

 

Why offer those deals then? Amazon should be aware of the availability from suppliers, shouldn't they?

 

Something odd is going on....my Two from the Vault order still says 24 Nov.....hmmmm....that went from £13 to £123....weird. Wonder if it's a sneaky ploy to get folks to spend more money and bundle the bargain item with other stock items to get the £20 free shipping? They could ship the in stock item and cancel the bargain after. Of course that won't apply to non-UK orders.

That is a good conspiracy. The biggest Company in the world is artificially listing old 70s rock LPs cheaply to artificially increase profits from people bundling to £20.... You'd think they would artificially reduce the price of something more than 8 people in the western world are interested in buying.
