I would guess it's around 1975... pretty sure it was in the Chicago VIII sheet music book released the same year as the album.
Yeah I was thinking either '75 or '76, then thought the latter was a better guess. But you're probably right.
Maybe press and hold on the image. A menu will pop up. Choose copy, then you can paste. That's they way my moto-z android works anyway.
Wow. Hadn't seen that before. What a band they were. I don't know if I've ever heard/seen a better, or at least more engaging, drum solo.
I checked this book out of my local library. It's both inspirational and depressing (when Danny was fired from the group). He, Terry and Walt were already in a band together which was a bit of a dead end. Chicago---a rock band with horns---was essentially Danny's idea; Walt recruited Lee and Jimmy, Danny brought in Bobby and Peter.
I read this book by Danny and it was wonderful but his statement that the horn band was his idea is refuted by every other interview and/or source out there. There was also an excerpt about Walt early on having mental problems needing hospitalization. I’d never heard that before either. Who knows?
Looks like James Pankow got double exposure on the cover — or is that ninth person someone else at the far left.
Kath reminds me of an early ('62 - '65) John Lennon; they both had a lot of stage presence. Like Lennon, he was a great rhythm guitarist, especially on, Make Me Smile.
The original Chicago From left to right - Lee Lougnane (trumpet), Danny Seraphine (drums), Terry Kath (guotar/vocals), Robert Lamm (keyboards/vocals), Walter Parazaider (woodwinds), James Pankow - sitting (trombone), Peter Cetera (bass/vocals)
