i love the fact that, for all intents and purposes, the kids are gone. and so is natascha mcelhone, who never really added anything tot he show either.

  3. I had to play catch-up with the first season, but now I'm watching the second as each new episode goes up on Netflix, and this is easily the biggest surprise in a long time for me. Indeed, the only real complaint I have is that there are a few instances where it might work better to cut away and show reactions instead of relying on what appears to be jarringly low budget CGI... If only Jack Tom was the real president!

A lot about the program irritates me - but the indirect topical references are welcome.

i think it is a much better show this year than last year.

the kids are gone, the wife was out of the picture until this stupid thing with her mother (the mother has replaced the kids as the negative in the show)

the storylines are very good and very real.

and the addition of zoe mclellan was a positive one.

well, they got the son back into the show last night, and was a bad bad move..........ruined the show for me.

i hope he stays away, they seemed to make it quick.......we;'ll see.

It was a move probably to let people know that they hadn't forgotten that the President has a son. Though, tying him and his girlfriend into the convoluted plot of last night's episode was kind of silly.

There was an aspect of reality in this episode - the relations with Turkey.

Wonder when groping will get a play?

That "whiny little daughter" happens to be a pretty good young actress, with the right material. She actually kicks ass in Gifted, playing a whip-smart student needing better teachers. Not yer typical ABC Afterschool Special.

Ummm, no. Not "The" Gifted...that's a teevee show. Gifted is a mooovieee.
    'Nuff said some more.

Thanks for playing; exit through the Gift Shop...

  14. This quote (quoting myself) is from about 13 months ago...

For some reason I *STILL* have this entire series stacking up on my DVR - but still(!) haven't gotten around to watching even one episode.

The premise of "Designated Survivor" seems great, but (clearly) other viewing priories always prevail. But actually, it's isn't "viewing" so much as my wife and I always have MSNBC on while doing other things (so the TV functions more like a radio). And we're lucky to keep up with all the Seth Meyers "Late Nights", and stuff on PBS. Hell, we still have the last 4 hours of Ken Burns' "Vietnam" to watch, hopefully before the end of the year.

Glad mom is gone. Never thought she fit that part.

  17. The son was in the episode before. He yelled "she hated it here!".

I liked this show last season, and up until the "hiatus" this season, but I'm having a hard time getting back into it.......

"What the hell is it this time?!"

I haven't a clue what happened to the son, but I see a romance with Frost in Kirkman's future.

I forgot all about it last night. Now I can't catch up until next week on the stupid ABC website. It won't release it to view until a week after air. And then I'll be another week behind. Stupid.

because CBS.com charges to watch after one free week.

ABC's service in not like CBS All Access. It's essentially their website with videos that can be streamed. If you are a subscriber to a cable service (we are not), then you can stream their available stuff right away. But since we're not cable/satellite subscribers, we are put into second-class status and have to wait a week after air-time in order to stream it.

Well, the War with Kunami did it for me. Wag the Dog all over again.

Hannah Wells must get around the globe so quickly in a time machine :(

Don't take the show real seriously so it's an hour of entertainment DVR!

I like this show. Maybe it's Keifer. I hated "West Wing."

The best new part of the show is Bo Martyn.
