Anything any era that you consider a 1st occurrence in RnR.
    I will begin with two
1.First time the term Rock was used in a song.1947 Good Rockin Tonite-Roy Brown
2.First RnR suicide was Johnny Ace playing Russian Roulette backstage in Houston Texas 12-25-54.
Hopefully we will all learn something and have fun too.Peace.

He was a R&B singer whose voice sounds as if death was hovering ever so near.He hung with Memphis cats.

    OK.I'll post one more.
First song to be investigated by Big Brother is Louie Louie-The Kingsmen for obscene lyrical content. When compared to the original from Richard Berry I think RnR pulled a fast on the Feds.Right On!The case went nowhere.

    First India-influenced rock song(?)

"See My Friends" - The Kinks

George Harrison is most associated with India rock, but "See My Friends" (recorded 5/3/65, released 7/30/65) is earlier than what most people think is the first India rock song, "Norwegian Wood" (recorded October 65, released 12/3/65)

There could be some obscure India-rock song that pre-dates "See My Friends"......but The Kinks beat The Beatles to it.

You your are right about theBeatles but I think it might have been the Yardbirds Still Im Sad that pre-dated both.I am on my way to research so we will know for sure.Good post.

You are correct it is the Kinks. The Yardbirds used Indian influences all over Having a Rave Up even tried a sitar which was decidedly non-conducive to their sound therefore allowing Beck freedom to bend strings on Indian type format to accomendate their sound both pre-date Beatles with Kinks numero uno so Wikipedia is not all knowing they are wrong on this.Great post and info!

One more before sleepy time. The 1st time the phrase Sex,Drugs&Rock n Roll was used was in a 1969 Life Mag article that stated "The counterculture has its sacraments in sex, drugs and rock and roll."
