    Here's a question

Were The Beatles the first rock band to release an album with all original songs?
    A Hard Day's Night (1964)

I wasn't alive when these recordings came out but from what I have read, The Zodiac - Cosmic Sounds album was released in May of 1967 according to online sources like Wikipedia. This album features the late Paul Beaver on Moog. So this predates both artists mentioned already. But sources are only as good as those who post them online, so the wiki date could be wrong as well:

Oh...your "research". Yea...okay...you know more than the Bob Moog Foundation....what a joke.
Yea...this was recorded in April of '67, so it still predates your... ahem..."research".

It's not a "belief" when you are discussing factual information....objectivity, as opposed to subjectivity. It was disrespectful of you to invalidate me, and the information contained within the Bob Moog Foundation, simply because it did not fit your narrative.

Bruce Haack was using some primitive DIY drum machine on his 1969 album "The Electronic Record For Children." The song below, "African Lullaby" you can hear it throughout the song especially during the freakout middle section of the song:

The problem with these kind of things is there are always people who will dispute it. But anyway:
    The Who:
    guitar-smashing
    power-chord
    windmill strum
    100-watt amp
And that's just up to 1966.
And I personally think they were the first true hard-rock band.

In an achievement unlikely to ever be equaled, for the week of 4 April 1964, the Beatles occupied the top five positions of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In all they had 12 places on the US chart.

The chart placings were as follows, with the respective record labels in brackets:
