I haven’t played mine yet but it’s the Chris Bellman cut, is yours too?

Lots of EU versions in Oslo, but there are some with US-markings as well. Is it the same pressing?

My pressing (EU) clearly has CB in the deadwax. And it sound great!

Just picked this up now at my local store. He sells stereo equipment along with a small amount of records. He only got 1 copy.

I have this CD and it’s one of the better sounding I have. This would lead me to believe this album was recorded digitally?

I went to my local store an hour before they opened. I was the first in line. 30 minutes later other people started to show up. They all said they wanted to get Harvest Moon. There were like 15 people in the line when the doors opened. We all got copies and probably fife copies were left in the shelf when I left.

I just finished listening to the album and I can say it sound so good. I do not have the CD so I can't make any comparison. All I can say is I like what I am hearing. CB in the dead wax, too. :)

I am a little bummed out that it does not have the NYA logo on the jacket... :hide:

Are you not familiar with the SHF mantra : "It's all in the mastering" ?

It's on the compact disc as well, his vocals on some of these song chorus's were recorded in the red (IMO). If this LP has boosted levels it's going to be more noticeable me thinks.

What’s with the paper inner sleeve nonsense? Shame because it’s a quality pressing. As for the mastering, I’m finding the bass a little boomy at times. Not sure how that compares with the cd - it’s been a while since I played it.

Bought two copies (one for me, and one for a buddy) at my local hangout. Plan on firing it up tomorrow, since I have to work tonight.

Despite this being a "RSD first" release, Thrasher's Wheat lists it as a 5,000 copy pressing.

Perhaps the etching on side 4 will be unique to this release? Decade was also a RSD first release. The standard version of that came out later didn't have the prints that were in the RSD one.

That is great to hear! Couldn’t get a copy here but I got the Son Volt so I’ll just listen to my original ‘Harvest Moon’ until this new version becomes generally available.

Someone commented on Discogs about distortion on the backing vocals of Linda Ronstadt on Unknown Legend and I’m hearing that too if the volume is cranked.

Just noticed your comment. I hear this too but by lowering the volume the effect almost disappeared, and I would still class the volume I’m playing it at as more than decent, I guess it’s just not crankable

Yes there is a lot of distortion on the chorus unfortunately...but the overall sound is quite sweet.
