Including it’s a beautiful world ? Wow. It’s one of his best songs since he left Oasis for me, this is goona be his best album so far.

I’ve got the other two but neither are as good as this one, the new direction he has moved in is really interesting and was badly needed as as his set lists and songs were becoming abit same old and boring.

My Japanese deluxe is goona arrive on Thursday, can’t wait. Will go the shop and buy the LP on Friday.

No LP /CD from me Noel Gallagher must be joking awful music.

I think people who are happy " joy of life" don't make great music.

Noel Gallagher's first two albums were brilliant, of course tbe genius of his songwriting skill lay with Oasis.

Come on now. You're saying you can't make good music if you're happy with life?

Writing good music, and being happy, are not mutually exclusive.

Liam seems the happiest he's been in years, and it shows, because lately his performances have been stronger than they have been since the mid Oasis days.

I’d say the only time that Noel has been writing when he wasn’t happy was during SOTSOG era? He’s always been happy with life otherwise

I admire Liam for getting of his backside and doing something with his team of writers. But I find his new music just indie music by numbers. I was starting to get bored with Noels music too but I'm really looking forward to this collaboration with David Holmes. I got into Holmes during the mid 90's trip hop scene.
He was actually the man who introduced me to sixto Rodriguez before he became cool again on one of his remix complications. I'm actually treating this as a Holmes album with Noel on lyrics and vocals. How can we go wrong.

And I love that album, but god did it show in my opinion. I think Noel once said that he suffered from writer's block during the making of SOTSOG (or was it Be Here Now?). Then of course that lead to him writing less songs for the last three albums, which I speculate was partly because he wanted to make the band more democratic, partly because he just didn't think he could write as many songs as he did in the early years.

Interesting debate there about his songwriting. I did think for a while that he found it harder to relate to his fans through his music. He's a millionaire now and no longer lives the same lifestyle as fans on a council estate. But after years of thinking he was overrated I'm coming round again to appreciate his songwriting and output.

One thing I appreciate about Liam at the moment is that his support acts tend to be new, young, and relatively unknown rock bands. He's had three of my favourite new bands as support acts - The Strypes, Rat Boy, and The Sherlocks.

Whereas Noel is the type of person who just says "Rock is dead, rock is dead, Kasabian were the last good rock band."

Is he trying to sound like Julian Lennon on For What It's Worth?

lucky you. When I saw him the godawful Warbly Jets opened. Pretty much worst band I have ever had the displeasure of seeing.

The whole time some one behind was screaming "WARBLY JETS" !!!!! Did the band pay him to drum up that support ?

I take that back. I did see (for whatever reason) Bad Co/Damn Yankees in probably 1990. THAT was the worst band I had ever seen.

When more than 5% of the buying public cares about those numbers, let alone even understands what it means.

I hadn't realised the dynamic range was so low, I quite like this album!
Edit - looks like vinyl DR is higher, which might help explain things :)
