Any Info on Supertramp "Breakfast" Reissue?

Certain sites have been listing "pre-order" for what seems like ages for the new MoFi reissue of Supertamp "Breakfast in America" SACD and LP.

Anyone have any info when these are due (if ever)? Thanks.

 

It's one of many items promised for some time but as yet undelivered to the masses. The Music Direct catalog is an exercise in frustration sometimes (although the current one is the most beautiful I've ever seen in print)

I haven't looked nor have I heard about another reissue of BIA. However, it wouldn't surprise me if this were tackled by Mofi's One-Step or Chad's UHQR.

 

Amazon has pre-order for MFSL Breakfast In America SACD. Release date is July 31, 2018.

 

No need for it, as SHM-SACD is too good.

A One-Step of BIA or COTC would be great, and the first worthy of the treatment, IMO. The first three have been suspect choices.

Amazon UK gave me a release date of today (April 6th), but changed that today to the "We need more time..." standard phrase. They suggested I should buy the SHM-SACD instead (which is in stock)

Since noone has heard the Mofi SACD yet we dont know which one is the better version...

 

My MOFI SACD shipped today.

 

Was just listening to this record today...absolute brilliance. My dad used to hang out on the beach with Supertramp in Manhattan Beach, CA when I was a kid. This was pre-Crime of the Century. I sort of remember them!

 

I will be interested in feedback and reviews of this release. I hope it was worth the wait!

Just ordered the SACD as well. Strangely, the receipt listed “TBA” for the item, although it’s labeled in-stock on the product page. Given that KLM above noted his copy is on the way, it’s probably just a glitch.

Got another order confirmation email from MD, and it says the SACD is indeed in-stock. Cannot wait to compare it to the 2017 Japanese SACD and my current benchmark, the audio Blu-ray.

Now bring on the new vinyl!

 

Ordered mine on the 18th direct from MOFI.
Delivered Saturday...except that they shipped it to another address in my account history.
Fortunately it is a buddy's address so I'll get it from him soon. Looking forward
to this release as I have never really been that super pleased with any release of this title
outside of vinyl.

 

Supertramp Breakfast In America SACD (MOFI) just shipped!

 

The replacement came today. I listened to the Gone Hollywood redbook layer in the car and was
pleased, but saved the rest for home. I just ripped the redbook with EAC (though
there was no precedence in the dbs) and DR'd it up with TT1.4 for what it's worth.
I will do a side by side with both layers and my US A&M+ and give thoughts here.

So is this the same mastering as the earlier MFSL UDCD 534 released in 1990, or have they taken a second 'stab at it'. I ordered this yesterday, as either way, I need a copy.

 

I'm waiting for the vinyl version, but those numbers are very encouraging.
