He was about the only person selling German Rock and bootlegs of popular bands in full view of punters. I got into Faust there. IIRC, there were two proprietors, both German. Their shop used to be in a small arcade near the corner of Swanston St and Flinders Lane.

Yes, it was Robin Casinader. Didn't one of that group die during an epileptic seizure?

Remember Pop Inn, Franklins and One Stop. Licorice Pizza also in South Yarra used to be pretty good.

I'll have to go and check him out next time I'm in Melbourne to see Mum at Xmas.

Licorice Pizza was the first shop I saw an album for over $100.

There used to be a tiny store in the arcade of the Nicholas Building in Swanston St Melbourne run by a German guy. I used to go in there with my mate as a teenager looking for Beatle Bootlegs. When we'd go in there he'd look down at me with a smile and say...'ahh da Peedle Boys' :) Someone told me years later he had a policy that the only Black music he would ever stock in there was Jimi Hendrix

Remember Pet Sounds in Malvern? It was the most average record shop in Victoria but it used to win all these awards.

Bet it was the US see-thru version of Speaking In Tongues by Talking Heads.

It was a secondhand copy of the Let it Be box. Everyone else sold it for about $40.

Didn't get out that way. I might have bought a Billy Thorpe CD from them via internet a long time back.

Still have the Let It Be book in very good condition from that box - the Aussie version.

There's still a record shop at the same address. Quality Records.

I got an Aussie copy of My Generation there. It was my #1 want.

Where Pipe was used to be a shop called Mother's. Gil Matthews from the Aztecs used to run it.

Besides the German guys there were other dealers when it was a flea market. I got it from one of them.

Gaslight in Malvern was all cutouts. You could spend $500 there and not get passed the Ks

The only shop I saw that pressing of Speaking in Tongues was at Readings in Carlton.

Molly didn't want Divine on the show. Bert Newton brought him out for his tonight show and Molly said he was too 'adult' for Countdown. I think Hinch got involved in the debate as well. Shame, shame, shame.
