We're 39 pages into this thread. I think it's safe to say we've probably exhausted everything there is to say about "the greatest cassette deck".

Perhaps this is the greatest consumer cassette deck ever produced:

Here's a candidate "greatest" deck that'll piss off the usual suspects:

    A half-sized deck?

    It was full-sized, actually.

I reckon some folk on this thread maybe aren't playing with a full deck mind...and there but for the grace of God go I!

I would think even higher. That things gotta run cassettes with 2” tape in them. :D

No way - the control layout is too logical and it's not black and hard to see

After seeing this commercial in the last week, I thought I'd try it.

Amazingly...the soundtrack for that commercial played.

The unexpected outpouring of chocolate milk was an added bonus.

    Cassettes are truly amazing.

    Especially Kit Kat ones.

While visiting my parents recently, my dad asked me about the deck he had (Pioneer CT-10) and said he didn't use it, should he throw it out? It is probably the most basic deck Pioneer made (80's)
I told him I would take it. Have not checked it out yet, may need a belt. Has been used gently over the years, probably not used much actually. May make a nice second deck for my shop.

I just bumped into a cassette tape I had made with the following song back in the 90's ...

Anybody mention Elcaset yet? Twice the tape width running at twice regular cassette's speed.

Sony, Teac, Technics and others all made decks for this short-lived format.
