Anyone else think the Neil Young catalog might be a good candidate for the Steve Hoffman Audio Fidelity treatment? Certainly a lot of material with enough variety to satisfy most. I had to end at 2007 due to limited response available so if there's any post 2007 you would like let us know. Vote for as many that you would be willing to purchase if it were to happen.

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere Neil + Crazy Horse + Steve = an interesting SACD, even though I do have the Archives Blu-ray.

Neil is determined to re-launch the "Elcaset" format exclusively with his titles.

Neil Young is not possible for any audiophile label... also The Beatles, Stones, Metallica etc.

Up to a certain point yes, but after This Note's For You the quality sounds like it dropped considerably and S/T could certainly use Steve's handy work. A shame it can't happen but fun to consider.

Can you refer me to a great sounding version of After The Goldrush?

I'm not sure about "great sounding" but currently I'm enjoying the Japan 20P2-2092.

Could just be the recording, most sources I've heard the production /mastering lacks bass.

Poll indicates After The Goldrush requires the Steve Hoffman touch.

I find it odd that so many voted for a remaster of On the Beach, which is a particularly fine sounding album, even by NY's high standards.

On The Beach original US is perfect.

IMO at least Harvest, TNTN, On the Beach, Zuma, on the original US vinyl, have great audiophile quality by any standard.

  23. Most of the Neil Young albums I like most, 'Harvest', 'On The Beach', 'American Stars And Bars', and 'ReAcTor' have been done on DVD-Audio and I think they all sound very good.

After the Goldrush sounds superb o n vinyl after Chris Bellman did the remaster as part of the archive series.

As are all the vinyl remasters all the way up to Rust Never Sleeps.

Why would anyone want anything else?
