Hmm. All time most obsessed? I'm a fan of The Wall, thanks to my angst as a teen. The SMiLE Sessions reconstruction is fantastic, and I've got Joe's Garage Pts. 1-3 on vinyl which I listen to on the regular. There are many, many more.

Harry Chapin - Greatest Stories Live

I own it in all available formats from US to import copies. Love the double-exposure cover artwork and, of course, the music is lovely.

It's a dream of mine to be able to listen to all three concerts the album is derived from in their entirety (or at least, all that was recorded). There is supposed to be a killer version of "Sniper" that didn't make the cut (3 studio tracks that were leftover from the Portrait Gallery sessions were included in its stead).

My avatar, Live Yardbirds! Featuring Jimmy Page, which has always been in my Top 3 since I first got it in the '80s... with the remix/remaster in 2017 (now called "Yardbirds '68") it's back in constant rotation... got it a week ago Monday, and already spun it over 100 times...

Oh boy... well, my choices would be the following:

1.) Genesis - Selling England to the Pound (my introduction to Prog AND classical music - talk about personal importance!)
2.) David Bowie - Young Americans (while highly controversial among his fans, I think he's never created more soul-moving music than during his plastic soul phase)
3.) Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms (for the sound quality alone... come on, you can't find a reference in sound that easy ;) )
4.) The Beatles - White Album (first LP I ever heard... 90 minutes that started a passion for life)

  11. Brian Eno - "Taking Tiger Mountain". Been playing this sucker since I first picked it up around 1985 and it never gets old.

Still sounds like an entire new album to me, as those ears of mine were used to the rather dreadful 1996 remaster disc :D the remix is an amazing job in a lovely packaging

  24. Predictive Text? Or maybe too much of the leaf yourself?

Good choice, though and one of my personal favourites, as well.

  25. There are lots of albums I return to often.

A smaller number though that I may be 'obsessed' with, although that sounds faintly negative.

Albums that are 'old friends' and which give me great comfort include:

Shawn Phillips: Second Contribution (what a wonderful opening )
Bob Dylan: Blood On The Tracks (TUIB: Dylan is the best and this is the best of Dylan)
The Triffids: Calenture (not a weak track on the album)

    Best Wishes,
    David
