Advice on Satchmo Plays King Oliver/ Fuel Label CD

I have been building up my digital collection,
And wanted advice on the sound quality of the Fuel label remaster of Satchmo Plays King Oliver.
I love the vinyl, but would enjoy a nice digital
Option, and like many hear, I have given up
On the digital SACD release.

Sorry guys, I only have the Blue Moon remaster version and the sound on that is fabulous.

 

That's interesting as the Blue Moon is also a European "grey" reissue, often mis-labelled in this forum as a "bootleg". The Solar / Essential Jazz Classics imprints are exactly the same thing, legitimate reissues but not strictly "official". As EJC have reissued the "Complete" after the Fuel 2000 / Varese download / CD-R on-demand versions, I think I'll go for that instead as there is a reasonable chance that it's from the same source.

 

I've found the answer by re-reading the "where to start with Louis Armstrong" thread again. Apparently the Fuel 2000 release was created with poor quality needle drops and the exuberant use of No-Noise processing. It's time to look for the old LP's, I think! What a pity.

Is this for real? Analogue Productions has had a pre-order link up for the LP and SACD since, I think, about the end of 2013 but nothing so far has materialised to date! I wonder.......but I don't want to wish upon a star.

The only good alternative to this reissue is original Sidney Frey era Audio Fidelity vinyl, I'm afraid.

 

Now that this is out on vinyl, has anybody got it and can tell us how it sounds? Thanks a lot.

 

Remastered by Bernie Grundman, from the original analog tapes, 200-gram vinyl plated and pressed by Quality Record Pressings.

Well, it's a winner for sure. That's VERY hard to beat IMHO.

 

And how it sounds in comparison to the Classic Records 33rpm pressing?
