    Very nice!
How about more pics of the room itself, like the acoustic treatments etc.
Also, there's a thread dedicated to member rooms & systems.
    You'll get a lot more views\feedback there.

Don't know much about dog breeding but I know it's huge here. A lot of events etc. As for the amp - it's 40 Watt single ended based on GM 70 tubes.

Draws the 90 Db, 6 Ohm speakers with ease and can rock like crazy on any material you throw at it. Blew away my pair of Manley 250 monoblocks in terms of detail and musicality and equaled them in dynamics. Over the last few years I became a big fan of powerful single ended amps. One day I will try their 75 watt monoblocks, GU 48 based but these cost babies cost $25 000 and I need time to afford them.

I'll get the pictures done tomorrow. Actually there are no specific room treatments other than acoustic ceiling. It's just the wooden panelling on the sides and heavy curtains on the both fronts of the room. No bass traps or other fancy stuff.

Well, that's because quite a few local companies in many countries never make it to the international market. However when the ruble fell twice (from 30 dollars to 60 dollars) a few years ago and the imported western Hi End audio became out of reach for most russian audiophiles the local manufacturers felt the opportunity delivering killer bang for the buck product compared to the imports. More than half of participants at Moscow Hi End Expos (we have 3 different held each year) are local audio manufacturers who frankly outperform worldwide brands in most cases. And the prices also speak for themselves! For example my huge 18 inch woofer speakers cost $5000 which is a joke by modern standarts given that their competition soundwise if top of the line Tannoy, JBL or even Westlake. The TT with tonearm is $2200 if you can believe that.

Lots of natural wood and heavy curtains and vinyl is frankly the best acoustic treatment I can think of

That is one of the most well designed rooms built around equipment I've ever seen. You've done a magnificent job.

Thanx! I also replaced the power cords with Tchernov Reference (Tchernov is the biggest russian cable manufacturer) and love the sound even more. I had Shunyata and Aleks power cords before and Tchernov just takes the detail and dynamics to entire new level.

Powerful single-ended amps have been all the rage here in Moscow for the last couple of years. Most acclaimed set ups use them for a reason - they provide all the air and musicality of normal single ended amps but with power to rock on ANY material including rock and metal if needed. I've been blasting Metal Church on my system today and of boy does it pound!

Beautiful room and components, very well done! Doesn't quite make me wanna move to Russia, but love some of those local manufacturers you have, there is such a big Russian audiophile community with a very strong appreciation of the past.

Yup, there's a company here in the States, called Alexus Audio, owned by a Russian guy, a classmate of Vladimir Lamm (of the famous Lamm Industries). He builds SE amps with 845 or 211 (don't quite remember, but likely 845's) tubes, with power in the 60-80 WPC range. Heard one at the audio show in NY last year - they do rock, indeed. I'm still intrigued by the low-power SET's, though, like an 8 WPC Bottlehead Kaiju, with 300B 's, driving, say, Klipsch Cornwall's. For more power, there's always ultra-linear amps in tubes, or SS.

Wow! Can't think of any russian manufacturer that makes 110 volt stuff. People go to great lengths trying not to loose sound quality while transforming 110 into 220 here, LOL. Sadly no russian company ever cracked the North American/Japanese market so there was never any need to produce 110 volt gear.

IIRC correctly BAT are also built by a russian guy living in the States. Good amps. As for the SET's I always felt that with the lower power ones (like 8 WPC) you have to limit yourself to very efficient speakers and certain genres. Never heard them play rock convincingly. The high power SETs put many SS megawatt monsters to shame when it comes to slam. I have a friend who drives his Westlakes with 4 Storm SET monoblocks (absolutely cult amps sadly a Holy Grail now since the guy who made 'em passed away) and when he blasts Metallica you can swear the band is playing in his room 100%. Probably THE best amps I ever heard and I heard a lot!

Here's me in his listening room
