Will have Painkiller on Monday, will report back around that time. I have nothing to compare this to, so if it sounds good....it is good :)

Does anyone have the 2017 Sin After Sin that can comment if it's worth getting?

I don't know, but this Painkiller lp sounds good, I have only original CD to compare - still these 2017 editions are pricey, it's like 50$

I wonder what that symbol mean...if it is the symbol of the mastering guy?
It is strange that we can not find out who mastered this rereleases and from what source...grrr.

The symbol is pretty hard to make out. MPO isn't exactly a high end pressing plant either. FWIW the original CD is DDD, so there is no point in me buying this unless a top engineer cut the LP. I also think the album is a little long for one record and should be on two slabs of wax. If you like LPs for the big artwork, have at it.

ok...so the record was made DDD,then i see your Point in being happy with your original cd.They did not brickwall the cds back then:D I guess the original LP and CD sounds pretty much the same with a good system.

I have all but painkiller on original LP and it is tuff finding PK second hand..especially in good condition! So was hoping this release could be a nice substitute if it is mastered with dynamik and pressed well.
Maybe in the end i go for the original cd though.

Painkiller clocks in at 46:11 on the original CD which sounds perfectly fine to my ears and yes it's DDD all the way so I can't imagine an LP cut making much of an improvement if any.

Can anyone elaborate on Painkiller? How good is it?

I have the 1990 CD. I used to have the 1990 LP. I now have the new LP. I think it sounds great, on par or better than the 1990 LP (disclaimer: based on one listen so far). It is NOT a piece of vinyl garbage with a compressed CD master carved into it.

Again, for the folks in the nosebleed section, sounds great.

Nice...do you have an original of Sin After Sin to compare? That can be interesting.
