Records keep shipping damages corners. They also stopped using record packaging for single titles so they move around in larger boxes. These yep reissues are also dished bad. Good thing the return policy is so easy at amazon!

...until you try to return one too many.... Or so I’ve heard.

Not true in my recent, vast experience.

Same, I have ordered way too much lately and every single one of them was packed perfectly.

IDK if this is the case but a lot of people just group new from amazon and warehouse deals into the same group. Things shipped from the warehouse very rarely come in an lp mailer and are usually always just in a larger box which is why I only buy used if it is a great deal and I can live with a couple corner bumps or something or other small cosmetic damage.

Ok thanks, just recently this has been the case...but rule of thumb, always buy records without other items to ensure LP packaging. The dishing is a factory defect....wont be trying to get this a third time.

That probably why it’s so cheap

Ordered it based on your post.

OOS, but I'm ok if I eventually get it or don't either way at that price...

I can't say for sure, but it looks like the standard OJC version that seems to stay in print. In my experience, these are consistently very good, if not fantastic. I don't know anything about the mastering.

Would Amazon know these are defective or poorly pressed before selling at low prices? That would seem unlikely...but maybe I am missing something?

Yeah, I figured I would ask and see if there were any specifics. I’ll try it!

Thank you! Although I don’t always trust Discogs. The matrix doesn’t tell me much.

The manufacturer might know and slide them to Amazon on the cheap. Just a theory.

My guess is that maybe Amazon noticed that copies of such titles were being returned as defective in significant numbers, and they were sitting on plenty of new stock that they needed to move.

I've been unlucky with them lately. Purchased an lp with huge warp, the replacement had a big fold in the cover (arrived just shrink wrapped to a piece of cardboard), a cd arrived loose with no protective packaging mixed in a box of canned dog food so the case was smashed....Even if I can save a few dollars, I think I'm going to chill with them for a while.

That's inherent in the recording, it has nothing to do with the pressing. It's a fantastic album... I was just curious about the pressing/cutting.
