This literally just arrived...Esperanza Spalding's new album Exposure, signed before it was shrink wrapped. Limited to 7,777 records and CDs. No digital or streaming release.

The strip in the middle is a piece of her handwritten notes from the recording sessions. She conceived, wrote and recorded this album live on Facebook in 77 hours.

Back in the early 80's I bought a book with the addresses for various celebrities (or at least the addresses of their secretaries or publicists). The first person I wrote to was Macca. Almost a year after writing to him (I had forgotten about it by that point) I got this in the mail. It was a fantastic surprise. No idea to this day if he signed it or if it was somebody who worked for him but I like to think Paul actually inked this picture.

ha ha funny... not crying dude.
It ain't over till it's over... I've been covering the Steelers since my thread started this season. I happen to enjoy Boston as a city a great deal, but with
football .. that's a different story. Best to let this go. Period.

This is the first I've heard that. I definitely don't look like a middle aged Brian Wilson today...

Welcome Boo Rad, happy to give good news!
The double lined "P" had me for a minute, but I actually have one close to it myself on the promo "Driving Rain" media CD's he signed. It's very nice and on a great photo too. The double ''P'' you see now and then... Enjoy! :righton:

W.S. "Fluke" Holland - Drummer man
Signed color 8 x 10 photo of the seasoned rock'n'roller.
Fluke was Carl Perkins drummer, then later became CASH's
only drummer he ever had. He was there on drums for the
Million Dollar Quartet that day at Sun .. Toured with Jerry Lee
Lewis, Roy Orbison and more. At 87 years young, and 63 years
playing rockabilly, country and rock and roll... W.S tells how he
got his nickname "Fluke". He said everything he ever did turned
out as a fluke. CASH called him the father of the drums decades
ago .. he is still playing today.

Nice... I sold my mono promo back in 1974 to my friend up the street.
The same week I had found the sealed Stereo in the racks under soundtracks
at my local Gimbels Dept. Store.

Re: Pete Sinfield and McDonald And Giles...
As mentioned above, this is the one solo album... from Pete Sinfield.
If you are a fan of early KCrimson words, then this is for you. The LP also
includes a who's who of Crimson alumni. The best.

My apologies to Ian McDonald for butchering your name above..
This "McDonald And Giles" LP was recorded in 1970 following the break up of the King Crimson debut ITCOTCK. Brilliant.

    "Rock The Casbah..."

For The Quarrymen/Beatles before there was The Cavern Club, there was the Casbah Coffee Club. Owned and operated by Mona Best in the basement off their home at
8 Haymans Green, Liverpool. The Quarrymen opened the club the summer of 1959.
The casbah was pretty much an instant hit, and hosted may of the great Mersey groups.

The place was not quite ready for the big opening, and Mono Best, Pete's Mom enlisted the John, Paul, George and even Cynthia to do some last minute painting... This ceiling still stands as it did when Paul laid down the lines in 1959.

John Lennon's ceiling painting remains visible to this day ..
He seems to have chosen an odd pattern of "Lucy In The Sky" like shapes,
and in another area he is shooting for the stars.
