Best movie to watch while drinking Absinthe?

  1. There's certainly a lot of true absinthe around, but unfortunately plenty of bogus wormwood-free artificially-coloured stuff is out there too. And I understand the stuff pictured above is pretty borderline. But, this is all another topic!

Valerian or any CGI color graphics intensive movie. Avatar would be another good one.

Well, the Absinthe sold today is neither as unhealthily colored as back then (the poisoned color had/has some trippy effects) nor has it the high share of Thujon that vintage bottles have. Furthermore, the cheap ones are little more than pure Ethanol colored green - not good

Can't comment on the OT's Absinthe - at least there are no skulls or anything like that on it (always a bad sign when looking for Absinthe - scammers who sell their Absinthe solely on its reputation as being 'trippy' and 'illegal'). It's also a french recipe, which means it's perfect for the 'sugar rite'.

As for the question, I had to empty a bottle of Absinthe (pretty bad drinking game... umm, yeah, we were all younger once :D) while watching the Super Bowl and Trainspotting afterwards once - NOT recommended!

I'd recommend Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, El Topo, the 1999 version of Alice in Wonderland and Sweeney Todd, maybe even Interview with the Vampire. Whatever you choose, enjoy a wonderful film night ;)

One I would NOT recommend is "Requiem For A Dream".

Moulin Rouge ... and then maybe a PSA about the dangers of drunk driving.

Zardoz is strange enough, but it’s not “fun”.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail is great, but everybody has seen it 100 times.

Maybe Hamlet 2 or Sausage Party would be good

  9. It' the alcohol content that gets you with Absinthe. My locally distilled bottle is 65% alcohol by volume! It has wormwood but not enough to get one tripping.

Start out with Excalibur and then about halfway through switch it to Monty Python and the Holy Grail and see if anyone notices.

Always wanted to do the whole Dark Side of the Rainbow (syncing Dark Side of the Moon with The Wizard of Oz) with Absinthe. Thought it might turn out be a bit better.

    Absinthe, not Ayahuasca.

Just a reminder: This is for a birthday party, not a cult initiation or a Craigslist-sourced BDSM munch

One of the most disgusting movies, ever to be made. Without any redeeming social qualities what so ever.

    Better to watch Speedracer!
